  • Carb Options Dressing?

Can I have the Carb Option Ranch Dressing on Induction? I still have not successfully started but I am planning my first week so I have everything I need on hand. Thanks!

I think it's sweetened with Splenda or some other artificial sweeteners. Read the ingredients to make sure. Anyhow, if it is sweetened with an artificial sweetener, 1 serving size listed on the bottle counts as 1 of your 3 daily sweetener allotments.

The other thing to watch out for with these products is that they tend to be low fat, containing 4-5 grams of fat per serving. Atkins is a high fat diet, so you'll need to add additional fat to your diet, in order to keep up your fat/protein/carb ratio.

I concur with Not2Late, I find that using Regular Mayo is nice as a dressing. I've tried the carb options before, they are ok, say you wanted to make a few meat rolls and dip it in it, or some cheese.

Ranch dressing is one of the only dressings I really like, is there one out there or one I can make on my own that is better on the induction?

I've just always used the Kraft Rancher's Choice.
Also, what I've done, is mixed some italian dressing with some mayo for something a little different. Makes a good dip as well as a salad dressing, just mix it thinner or thicker as needed.

            Ingredients Carb Option Ranch Dressing:
Soybean Oil , Water , Salt , Egg Yolks , Distilled Vinegar , Phosphoric Acid , Garlic Powder , Xanthan Gum , Monosodium Glutamate , Lemon Juice , Onion Powder , Natural Flavors Contain Dairy , Sorbic Acid , Calcium Disodium EDTA Used to Protect Quality , Spices , Polysorbate 60 , Disodium Guanylate , Disodium Inosinate , Sucralose Splenda Brand

It looks fine to me (and I've always just used Hidden Valley myself). BTW, Carb Option Ranch Dressing is not low fat for those who are thinking it is.

Why not just use "regular" ranch dressing? I use Hidden Valley Ranch.

I looked it up on their website.

carboptions.com is available for purchase. Get in touch to discuss the possibilities!

And plugged some numbers into fitday. It will give you a good fat percentage.

I use it myself also, BUT there is sugar in Hidden Valley and that can affect people or trigger cravings.

I was thinking regular had sugar. I don't know if it would be fine for me or not since I haven't gotten going. I think I will pick up a bottle of the carb options to be safe. Thanks for all the input, this board is awsome!

I use Marie's salad dressings. I don't eat ranch, but I am sure I have seen it as one of the choices. It is better than the carb options and you feel like you are eating a mroe hoemeade product than bottled.

I tried carb option blue cheese thinkign it might be good, adn it wasn't bad, but the Marie's was a million times better adn 0 carbs. I would get the real stuff, even if it is ranch. Differences b/w ranch adn blue cheese can't be much and I think you will enjoy it more

Okay I feel stupid, what is Marie's? Is this by regular salad dressing in the condiment isle or by the produce? I don't believe I have ever seen or even heard of it before. I tried the carb option ranch awhile ago and had the same opinion as far as it being okay but not the absolute best by any means. Thanks.

Marie's is by the produce section.
