  • Hello

    Hello everyone :wave

I just joined today and I am committed to changing the sugar laden eating habits that I’ve taught myself over the past 25 or so years. I’ve read a few books on low carb way of eating and I have determined that Atkins is the right choice for my life. I guess if I were asked to sum up the reason why I’m doing this, it would be because I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.

A little about me I guess is in order. I am a 32-year-old college student at Grand Valley State University. No, I have not been in college for the past 12 years, :yikes I started about 2 years ago. I use to work in the computer-programming field in the area of quality control laboratories for about 10 years. I got burnt out from the massive hours of non-challenging work, so I retired, sort-of, and am putting myself through college. I am working towards a double major BS in Accounting / Finance and a Masters of Taxation to obtain my 150 hours. My long-term educational goal is getting my certification as a certificated public accounting.

Wecome Jim - congratulations on starting Atkins and also working hard in school. Sounds like you have some awesome goals for yourself!

You won't regret giving up sugar and high carb foods - they were an anchor around my neck I am relieved to be free of. As your body adjusts to a peaceful life without being under siege from constant carbage, you will find your energy stores will increase.

            Welcome, Jim!!
Take some time and read through the 'sticky's in this forum and any other forum you go into...full of info to questions we hear over and over.
I trust you have Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution version 2002 (DANDR for short)? That's the book we follow here.
All the best to you, and I look forward to hearing about your progress!
