  • Newbie Here. Induction: How much.....

:anger I have looked through this forum, and can't find the info on what I am looking for. I have the New Atkins Book, Third Edition, and can't find it there either....... How much fats and protiens are we suppose to have a day during the induction phase??
I opened up an account at FitDay.com, and just want to make sure I am within the limits....Carb count was good at 18 for the day.

      Hi and welcome.

      65% fat
      30% protein
      5% carbs

These are approximations and are based on the analysis of the Induction diet. But just remember Atkins is a high fat diet not a high protein one.

Great, thanks. I'm not really much of a meat eater, so I am going to have to get use to eating meat. :nod
Thanks so much for all of your help! :hug

Okay, I am confused I think.... :confused
I just put in 3 fried eggs on Fitday, and it said Fat was 69%...doesn't that exceed the daily intake??

No because you've only put in one meal. You want to look at striving for around those numbers by the end of the day. One day you might be 70% fat, 25% protein, the next day 60% fat, etc but as long as you're averaging the 65/30/5 ratios over several days you should be fine. The important thing is as not2late said, this is a high fat diet not a high protein diet.

Great! Thank you all so very much for all your help! I saw that once I kept adding food to fitday, it lowered the percentages. Thanks again! :icondance
