  • 3rd Day Difficulty!

    Hi,

I'm on my third day of the Atkins WOL. I admit I feel much more energetic today than I have for a few months now. I just wanted to say though, that it IS a challenge this first week! :anger

I woke up at midnight last night with a huge sugar craving... and had to walk by the Snicker's bowl to get to the restroom. I literally found myself smelling the wrapped candy bars!

    He he he!

At any rate, I've been looking around this site and I've seen what huge changes people have made in their lives with this WOL and I am committed to it. Today just happens to be more difficult than others. Someone please tell me it gets easier!

Thanks for any support you can offer!

Ok, I have to ask. Why do you have a bowl of Snicker's in your house?! Whether you are on Atkins or not, that's just not right. What ever happened to fruit bowls? (Not that we can have that either!)

I'm not trying to criticize, but that just seems like a no brainer. I don't know if I could stick to this WOL if I had that in my face every day.

It gets easier! The first week your body really goes through detox. and adjustment. Many experience what is called 'the induction flu' which is just like it sounds. Good for you for just smelling those wrappers and not eating what's inside. I think you're brave for even having stuff like that around.

        Hi Sarah

I just want to say WELL DONE! You stick to it, you just got to look forward and keep focused. I just keep thinking how much better I’ll feel and I know from experience how much more confident I’ll feel when I reach my goal. Remember together we can do it!

For me, I struggled until the third day. By then, the cravings lessened and it got just a bit easier

I know, it is ridiculous to have a bowl of snickers in the house. But my two sisters and I own a home together, and they each have 3 children (I have none). Four of the six children are in soccer and both my sisters are on the Soccer Board. There are constantly visitors at our house. So, long story long, they keep a bowl of the miniature snickers on the table for the guests.

Thanks, I look forward to this WOL and how much better I will be feeling!

Look at it the other way.

The reason its HARD in the beginning is because you've been putting poison into your system and now your body is going through serious DETOX to rid itself of all that garbage.

Believe me, it will be so worth it to NEVER AGAIN be at the mercy of sugar and starch. Talk about empowerment!!

              HANG IN!

My first week was hard, but after that, everything seemed like a breeze. Sooner or later you want even crave candy anymore, sugar will probabley make you feel sick
