i cant say enough but im bac for more still hoping to nail down this way of life. this is my 4th try at the atkins approach in the past year. you see this diet works! 4 years ago i was 340 pounds in 11 months i was 240. however the stresses of life bring you to where you dony wanna go, and im here. I must tell myself every day this works because it does. its just really hard after losing all the weight and gaining it back in 4 years only to fault myself. so here i am again. god bless, good luck everyone. here i go again.

Bigjay...are you back on Day 1 again? Did you have a little setback?

If so, can we help you identify where your trouble area is? Let's figure this out! :yes

Don't let it worry you Jay :hug
In induction we are supposed to eat if we are hungry and till we feel satisfied even if it means eating more :yes
Once you are in ketosis you will probably not need to eat so much.

I found I never seemed to stop wanting to eat at first. I am glad I hadnt heard of fitday then as I shudder to think how many calories I ate that first week :yikes

As long as you only eat from the allowed foods list, drink plenty of water and exercise you will be fine :hug

              BTW why only egg whites?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I agree with Elizellen...as long as you are eating from the Acceptable Foods list, you're doing ok.
I was constantly snacking in the beginning, especially on days off when I was around food! I stayed within my limits at Fitday
(do you have an account at fitday?

It might help you see more clearly what you are taking in)

Cut yourself a little slack in the first weeks and month on Atkins. A person is still learning, and we're dealing with all the emotional issues we didn't even know we had that were related to food.

For me, I had it in my head that diet=starvation, so I was worried about that, and was always thinking about food!

Also, remember that for most of us, we don't have a clue what hunger feels like anymore. We know what coming down from a sugar/carb rush feels like, but we don't know what actual hunger feels like. When our blood sugars level out, we aren't really sure what's going on because we aren't on that roller coaster anymore, but we're in such a habit of grabbing for food that we keep doing that for a while.

Induction is a huge period of adjustment, so don't feel discouraged...feel proud that you are eating from the correct food list, and take it day by day....meal by meal, and even bite by bite, ok? :hug
