  • Snacks for my purse!?

I just completed my first day back on induction (been a few months away)

However I had to leave the house for awhile today and was getting pretty hungry....was at the hospital and did not see anything but chips and chocolate in the vending machine....so I came home hungry!

So my question....what do you keep in your purse for eating emergencies?? I can not think of anything that does not need to be kept in the fridge. Any suggestions out there?? ensive

I usually try to keep pepperoni sticks in mine. Just watch the carb intake and make sure it has no sugar. Makes a perfect little snack that doesnt need fridged. :nod

Celery & cream cheese is good, but you'd have to eat it the same day. I actually prefer mine a little warm, but I'd never leave it out overnight.

Have you made any of the Induction friendly recipes like revolution rolls, or cheese muffins (that's what I call them). It's sort of like a crustless quiche, but it cooks up firmer. Here's the link to the recipe: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=65721

I only made these once, and they weren't greasy or sloppy at all. It had the bread-like consistancy of a muffin. They're good hot, cold, or room temp.

Edited to add: I made this recipe without the bacon -- that might make it too greasy if you plan on packing it.

        Thank you! :joy

Those are ideas I can certainly work with! I will go check out the peperoni idea....I am thinking those turkey ones might be good. I will go shopping today to check it out!

Thanks for the recipes. I LOVE trying new recipes....but admit I have not tried these. Something new to try for sure! Can they be placed in teh freezer? Wondering if I wrap them individually and then throw one in my purse when I leave to go somewhere?!

        Thanks again!
