  • Question for all the mommys..Please read!!

I keep reading in the posts that TOM could slow down or stall weight loss...but my problem is that I just had a baby 2 months ago today...and haven't seen TOM yet!! How long did it take for him to return?? I'm just so confused...and I do not understand this. 4 lbs the 1st day of induction, then 3 the second, then 1 pound a day for 3 days....and nothing now. 17 days with no loss. I am trying my hardest..no cheats, and yet no lbs or inches. If you could please help me out it would be great. I tried to call my ob, but he says "It's different for everone" but I don't have a clue..weeks, months..He's a quack! I'm not breastfeeding...(of course since i'm on induction...) I just am at my wits end trying to figure this out. Part of me says so stop this wol and eat how I used too and restart when TOM visits so I know my hormones will be in better shape then they are in now, but the other part says" YOUR NUTS!!" I've come so far, and I don't want to go back. Please help me!!!!

    Fat and in distress, Stephanie

In my opinion, I would recommend continuing this WOL When TOM arrives, you may see a decrease in your weight which is an added bonus!

After you have a baby your hormones are out of whack. I breastfed so I do not know when it's normal for TOM to show up after. However when you burn fat you release hormones into your bloodstream so guess what you are a double threat! That would very easily explain the lack of TOM. As far as the weight loss goes, it is very very normal for your body to take a break after your initial induction. Give it some time, and chant this to yourself whenever you are frustrated, Weight loss is not linear.

Hormones Sweetie that is all I can say. As a mommy of two wonderful children (one who is almost a year old) I know what you are going through. For one thing I had a major case of postpartum depression due to no hormones, no sleep, and no sanity after my son was born. It took me 4 months to get back to my regular cycle and this now this WOE has thrown the whole TOM off. Something about this WOE throws off our cycles or hormones. I am not sure yet. In March I thought for sure I was PG due to being really late. Turns out I was not. Even being on birth control I was sure I was PG. I have since switch from the Patch to Yasmin and the weight is dropping quicker.

Talk to your doc, heck sounds like you may want to find another one. Guy OB's just don't know what we are going through (childbirth, struggliing with weight, hormones, etc...) Congrats on continuing to push through and try this WOE no matter how frusterated it sounds like you are! :hug :hug :hug Congrats on the new little one too! :yes

It's normal not to get your TOM right away after giving birth I didn't get mine for 9 months 6 months with the second (no breastfeeding) 9 months for the 3rd so hey, don't worry just remember you can get pregnant when you aren't mensturating and so use protection or BC of some kind so you can prevent pregnancy if you want.

I agree with everyone else. I wanted to add that it takes 6 weeks for your Uterus to heal from birth. Then after that your hormones have to adjust before TOM comes. SO 2 m onths is not long. I BF all 3 of mine and for the first I did not get TOM back, I weaned her at 15 months, and was preg the next month ( ensive ) With my 2nd, I started TOM at 2 months with her, and she too was excusively BF. urplequ: With #3 I Nursed her too, and had TOM every 2 weeks for over 4 months.

All my babies were exclusively BF tillthey were 5 months old, no bottles or solids, and TOM came whenever he felt like it for all of them!

Hang tight sweety, snuggle with your baby, and keep up with this WOL

I'm going to say what everyone else is saying-- Hormones! Don't you just love 'em?!

Hang in there. I think for me I was meeting up with TOM again after 3 months or so.

I had my baby 5 weeks ago and still have not had a TOM either and I don't seem to be losing much either. Also it's hard to tell what I lost from the pregnancy or this WOE.
