  • How full should I get?

    Hello,

I'm on my fourth week of atkins (extended induction), and it feels like my weight loss is already stalling. When I eat, I eat until I'm satisfied or feel "full".. I don't eat until I feel like I'm going to die or anything, but I still have that guilty feeling that comes from being on too many diets... I feel like I've cheated! I keep my carbs under 20 grams and am careful about counting carbs... But I feel like I'm eating too much for being on a diet, and maybe that's why I didn't lose any weight last week...

Can anyone tell me how full I'm supposed to get when I eat? I hate being hungry, but I want to lose weight!

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!!

    Firstly, give this a read:

There will be many times where weight loss slows down or goes into a little lull..it's normal. An actual stall is when there has been no loss of weight or inches for a month or more.

I don't think any of us can tell you how full you should feel. That's something you need to work out on your own.

For myself, I'll have one plate of food and when I'm done that, I'll think about how I feel and decide if I want more. Most times I decide I'm done, but I reassure myself that if I feel hungry later on, that I am allowed to have a snack.
Sometimes I'll have that snack later, but many times I surprise myself by not feeling hungry at all.

The knowledge that I can eat if I feel hungry has helped me learn to eat less at a sitting and it's very rare that I feel 'full' anymore.

We just had a gorgeous bbq dinner (meat and veggies marinated all day in caesar dressing then cooked on skewers!!MMMMMM!!) and I did overeat a bit and I feel stuffed! But when I think about it I used to overeat way more than this, so 'stuffed' feels different to me than it used to.

I have the same exact problem as you...I feel guilty when I don't eat
"diet style" as I was once used to. I always feel like I am eating too
much and wanting to "not eat" at times. I have to tell myself that
if I don't eat I won't loose in the long run and go into starvation
mode. This is my hardest struggle right now. Glad I'm not the only
      one who struggles with this!
