  • Back to weight loss again!!

    I'm wondering if my centrium carb assist was the reason for me not losing the past 10 days.. this morning i broke out of 333 (there for a week) and went down to 332 again! Let's hope tomorrow i'll lose steadily again, with the vitamins! WOO! How has everyone been?

    Good on you sweetheart!

    Sometimes stalls are our body's way of readjusting the weight.

    As an example, your scale will show no weight loss, but your tapoe measure will almost always show inches lost.

    This is because what we've lost in fat our body holds onto temporarily in water.

    So even when the scale isn't moving, take your measurements. Try on a pair of pants or a shirt.

    Chances are, you'll be surprised!

      it's so funny that you said try on a pair of pants or a shirt. I still am wearing all sweats (thats all i own.. nice name brand ones though hahaha) but well i have red ones which still have tags from SEPT 04 but never fit because they were a 2X and im usually 3X-4X in pants... wellll the 2X fit and fit rather well and a shirt ive had for about 4 years - with tags.. decides it wants to fit me today too! these clothes never fit me before! it feels great to look in the mirror (i still dont see results) and know that its working because these clothes didnt fit a few months ago!! WOO! :icondance

          I still think its very weird that im not loosing faster. yesterday all i had was 3 slices of cheese and 1/2 cup of tuna with some onion.

            You're not losing because you're not eating enough.

              Now...Goal...you've read the book, you know what you are allowed to eat, you know that you are encouraged to eat when you are hungry.....why would you eat so little in one day when it's a proven thing that you can eat well on Atkins and lose weight?

              You need to eat to lose weight...you won't see much progress if you eat skimpy little meals like that.
              Maybe take some time to review the book, and re-read about how important it is to keep your blood sugars level and how you should eat every six hours. When your blood sugars get unstable, you can re-awaken the cravings monster, and if you're hungry, you may be tempted to give in.

              So, eat, gosh-darn it! Get back into the swing of it all, eat the proper amounts from the Acceptable Foods list according to the Rules of Induction, and you'll see the pounds falling off.
              Not eating will just make you hungry, frustrated and disappointed.

                The ingredients says their is starch in those vitamins...perhaps that IS the problem. I take the atkins Basic #3 which has no starch, fillers, or sugars, just so that I know their is NOTHING extra in them that I don't want.                   The teeny tiny amount of starch in the carb assist vitamins shouldn't have much effect on weightloss...unless he's eating a bucket of them a day :yikes

                  I'd say it's more to do with not eating often enough, and also the natural slowing down of weight loss that happens every once in a while, especially after the first initial Induction period.

                    if you are deficient in a mineral or vit your body needs to metabolize fats then your weight loss will pick up when you add that needed vit or mineral. If look on the carb assist label you can see what is different in it then what is in the ohter vits you wre taking and if you are eating the same foods then you can just buy some of those supplements. Dr Atkins has a whole list in DANDR of ones you may need to boost your fat burning.

                    Congrats on shrinking yourself getting healthy on Atkins.

                      Do we have to look at the ingredients in our vitamins too? I take One a day carb smart and after reading the post I went to the website and looked at the ingredients. It also has corn starch in it. Is this going to effect me?

                        I agree with Moochiecat!! Eat more!! I am amazed at how much I can eat on this WOL. My calorie intake is higher than on diets I have tried in the past.

                        Another good tool to use is fitday - lets me know my percentages for the day, week, etc. ( We are supposed to eating Fat 65%, Protein 30%, Carbs 5%), and my calories, carbs and much more.

                          Obviously he isn't eating enough, but he DID ask wether or not the vitamins could be a problem. I think it could be a combination. I say that because I took them and had a problem. Now I take Atkins Basic #3 and am doing better. I am just VERY resistant to weight loss, so I'd rather not take any chances..but if you are still losing...I'm so jealous! Those Atkins Vitamins are expensive!!! Best of luck!!

                            Ok let me start by saying congrats to Carrie for winning American Idol! WOO! Exciting! now back to reality haha.... those pills may contain starch but when i didnt take them for a week, that was the one week i did not lose anything. I started to take the vitamins again yesterday and i found i finally broke from 333 after a week with no vitamins.. so the vitamins may be whats helping/saving me! thanks for your help guys!! Also, i find even when i eat what im supposed to eat, if i consume more, i lose less, which is somewhat obvious. I'm not not eating because im trying to lose more, thats just the benefit. I'm not eating because im very busy and im just NOT hungry! Today, i ate more however- i had some cheese and spinich pie!! YUM! Let's see if the weight comes off tomorrow!
