Do you think that a normal grocery store would have Edam cheese in the deli/gourmet section? I live in Florida and would like to try this recipe, but I would like to try it with the Edam cheese, if possible. I found a website I could buy the cheese on, but I'm not sure if it's worth a little over $20/with shipping.

I have seen edam cheese in most of the grocery stores here in AZ. Should be easy to find near you. I am going to try this recipe tommorrow! Sounds great.

I don't like cream or cream cheese. Do you actually taste those things? What do they end up tasting like and what texture are they? I'm pretty fussy when it comes to food. It has to smell right and have the right texture or I don't eat it. That's why I don't eat fish or seafood. I can't get past the smell. I wish I did 'cause lobster with butter would be pretty good....or so people say.

DebbieY, Don't ship it, that's VERY pricey. If you can't find Edam, Pau says Gouda (regular, not smoked) works just as well. I've used both with no taste difference. I find both of these in my deli sectin and I live in a small town compared to some

wannabethintoo, they're very much along the lines of a cheesecake texture. I can't say I detect overwhelming cream cheese flavor but I like it so maybe I'm not picking up on it you know?
