Help! I'm stuck! I'm three and a half weeks induction. Week one, I lost 6lbs with barely any cravings! Week 2 was 3lbs. Week 3 nothing! I eat only about 10 to 15 carbs per day but I eat alot. Could that be the problem? Example, yesterday I ate 1 Advantage bar (3g), 4 hard-boiled eggs (2.8 grams), 2 cups Romaine lettuce w/Ceasar dressing (2.5g) and a huge (I mean really huge) steak (0g). That's less than 10g right? I drink my water and I treadmill 30 to 45 minutes per day. What's wrong???? Could it be those darn Advantage bars? They say "Good for all stages", but is that wrong? Please help me. I have read the book cover to cover and really do believe it can work. I'm obviously doing something wrong. :help

Hi,
A lot of people on this site stall out in week three of induction. Just hold on, and you will see weight loss again. I personally can't eat the Atkins Advantage Bars, they stall me. Are you drinking lots and lots of water? Most of us drink at least a gallon a day Wasn't that huge steak yummy? Can you belive you are on a diet and get to eat a huge steak???? Post next week and let us know how you are doing...oh, and since you are new to Atkins, take your measurments! You will discover that even in weeks when you don't show any weight loss on the scale, you are still losing inches!Chriss Female 246/236/160 5'3"

I would definitely cut out the bars, but this is likely a case of your body reevaluating the situation and in a week or two you will see losses again. Best thing for you to do right now is put away the scale and pull out the measuring tape. Oh and post your stats in your siggy so people can give advise based upon your current weight and goals as well.

For what it's worth:
I only lost 4.5 pounds in my first 2 weeks of induction, then lost nothing in the 3rd week. I have over 50 pounds to lose, so I'm not close to goal. Once I moved to OWL and started adding veggies, the weight & inches are coming off.
Why are you only eating 2 cups of romaine? Where is your other cup of veggies?

I know everyone has already said this, but the special "low carb" candies are really bad. Even when not on Induction, they stalled me horribly... and brought back those horrible cravings. Once I just had one candy, or one bar... I'd want more.. and more.. every DAY... BAD.
What my advice is, from now on... and in the future... DON'T EAT ANYTHING WITH SUGAR ALCOHOLS! Well, that's just MY advice
Instead, stick to legal treats, like berries and cream... when you're not on Induction anymore of course

if it's any help I'm in the same boat - 5lbs gone in week one and two around 3lbs in week three. I'm keeping off the scales for the next two weeks and hoping for a nice surprise :yes

Me too
I started Atkins the 2nd wk in May. The 2 wks before I was experimenting with something that I thought would work, but I found that it was not something that I could stick with.
Now after about 6 weeks of working at the weight loss game, I have lost 23 lbs. In my 3rd wk, I seemed to stall as well. Then as if magic, I would drop 2 lbs overnight.
But in the week that the scale didn't move, I still felt changes going on in my body. My thighs and neck area felt slimmer. So when they say that the scales lie - I DO believe it!
I must admit though that I went to a house warming party last week end and fell off the wagon. I didn't think I did too bad. 2 small glasses of wine, 3 small crunchy bread rounds and of course, Italian wedding cake (which did not have much sugar in it). Boy was it good! But did I EVER pay for it this week.
It has finally taken me 6 days to get back down where I was last Sunday. I am sorry that I did it, but I am not going to beat myself up over it. I KNOW that if I am good 99.9% of the time, I will eventually lose. I have learned that I must be patient and diligent. The goal is to just keep moving forward and be thankful for the little things.Start Date 5/07/05

Thanks for all your support everybody. I'm not quitting! Effie asked about my veggie intake (2 cups romaine): Most days I eat less then that. Is that ok? I figured that the vitamins are making up for the lack of fruits & veg. I'm not bored yet with the "just meat & cheese" thing. Do you think it's ok that I continue this way (ie is this the fastst way to lose?). Otherwise I drink about 4 litres (I'm Canadian, eh?) of water which I believe is more or less a gallon and I'm down to 2 coffees per week (decaf!)

No, its not ok. There is a reason Vitamins are called, "supplements". Because you are getting the extra you need, not the full amount. By eating they way you are you will become extremly fatigued. Its also the slowest way to loseMost days I eat less then that. Is that ok? I figured that the vitamins are making up for the lack of fruits & veg. Btw, romaine lettuce hardly counts as eating your vegetables. You need veggies a little more nutrient effecient.
Take a look at the acceptable food lists...make a meal plan including all of them with enough food to feel satisfied, and enough to stay below 20 carbs daily if you are in induction.335/265/230
