I thought it might be interesting to let everyone know, why we find this WOE so wonderful, especially for some who are struggling a bit. For me it's the lack of that hunger and cravings I used to get before. I also like the control I have over the food that goes into my mouth, rather than the food controlling me!!! What's your's?

I agree with Brook...knowing what I can and can't eat. There is a defined list of foods that are acceptable. I know that a cookie will throw me out of ketosis and this way of eating does not work if you are going in and out of ketosis.
If I were on a low cal diet or trying to eat in moderation, I could always rationalize things like, "oh, just one piece of candy won't hurt" and before you know it, throughout a day, those "just ones" add up to quite a bit. And on Atkins, I know that "just one piece of candy" will hurt me.
I guess what I am saying, is Atkins doesn't allow me to get me in bad situations that cause the downward spiral to binges.Originally Started May 29, 2003 and lost 96 pounds. Fell off the wagon and gained over 100 pounds back. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!

I am not hungry nor do I feel deprived as I ALWAYS felt on other diets. I used to watch others eat and feel so sorry for myself.
Now, I love what I eat and I do not walk around opening cupboards and sighing. I never even go into the kitchen anymore until it is time to eat...then I am happy with the selections I can have.Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

I can go to a cookout, eat deviled eggs, shrimp, hamburger, whatever is being served and I'm full and satisfied, while my low-fat sisters usually cheat.

Seeing results!!! I had worked my butt off (not literally)before and barely lost any weight and now I can really see changes with this WOE.
I also use to be a bad emotional eater but it is amazing I don't do that anymore.http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...rejune1801.jpg

1. having set foods (knowing what I can and cannot eat)
2. actually liking the food I get to eat.
3. The ability to live a better/healthier life, where I can look in the mirror and be proud of who I am.
