  • The television appearance

It went incredibly well! I did some working out on camera, and they even had me hold up my old clothes to show how much weight I've lost! It was a truly wonderful experience. Although I'm not a movie star or anything like that, it sure felt good to let others know my story.

That is brilliant - were you nervous? I did a live radio interview once (not about weight loss) and I was terrified!

I was very surprised that I was not nervous. I felt really comfortable, and the reporter that conducted the interview was very down to earth so that made it a lot easier.

Of course my grandmother had something negative to say "Okay, that enough--you don't need to lose no more--your face looks bad!"

What the ****? Where is the encouragment, and how is that enough when I am still more than 50lbs overweight? I just ignore her. She never has anything nice to say, when she sees other doing things to better themselves---which, by the way, I think is really sad. She shouldn't be that way :no

I'm not letting that get me down though! It's also not gonna stop me from reaching my goal :joy

Iyshi i'm so glad that it went well. I did check out their website but there isnt any info on it. Oh well....maybe we can all send them a email about posting it on their website..lol!

Your grandma - Mine would be saying the same thing i'm sure. My dad and my mom ask me all the time "How much have you lost now?" They are proud but they wont get on board with me....makes me mad!

thats great, I was wondering how that went.

The salon I work at does tv advertising about every 6 months and I was so glad this time we just did a radio one since I'm a bit heavier now than the last commercial.

              Congratulations!!!

I know what you mean my grandma is kinda the same way she really never says anything and if she does it's negative. I jsut look past it. For my whole life I looked for someone to say positive to me and here it was all along inside myself. I don't need anyone to say anything cause my heart tells me all the time. I am like anyone though wen someone does say something it's like WOW head swelling LOL

Congrats iyshiaf! You'll be surprised at how many people come up to afterwards and have comments. My spot on TV was a number of weeks ago, and I still have acquaintances coming up and asking me about it. Way to be such the role model for everyone just starting or wondering how to it.

hey, your grandma sounds like my mother, she's just a mass of negativity- she's been obsessed with my weight from the day I was born, the only time she was happy was when I had bulimia!
it's sad but the only way round it is to detach yourself mentally from these people as much as you can. And by the look of you your'e doing just great with or without the critiscim. That must really wind her up :hug

This was posted almost a year ago, and I see that her last message was in October. I remember her talking about this but I can't recall what it was for.

The only supportive people I have in my life are DH, DD, and you guys. That's enough for me! I just figure the rest of the world is either: stupid or jealous or both.
