  • Food Challenging Weekend

This weekend coming up, will be a challenging one. Friday night I am throwing a sit-down formal birthday dinner for a buddy of mine for about 10 people. Saturday I'm throwing a father's day BBQ dinner for about 14 people, Sunday, a father's day brunch - out, and Sunday night, my friend's daughter's huge, formal wedding ( dinner/dance of about 500 people. There will be food flying at me in all directions!!!

I have been on this WOE since January for 41/2 months now, and I'm sure I can control the food that enters my mouth! I guess I will just have to increase my physical activity more in the next few days, and up my water consumption, and stay on track! I will report to you all on Monday of my success. I am determined to get through this with flying colours!!!
    Any encouraging thoughts???

This would be really hard for me too. My plan of attack would be to find out if there are low carb meals at the meals you are attending. If there are not good choices I would eat before I go, so that I don't make a silly choice. I would also ask my hubby to give me support if I needed it. At least it sounds like you are planning a couple of the menus. That should help. Good Luck!

Don't let yourself get too hungry and keep an emergency stash of something in case you can't find anything suitable. And just remember your goals. you can do it! we are right behind you every step of the way! Good luck and have fun! :hug

I have no doubt that you'll do just fine :hug

You've got a lot of creative control with the meals you are making (10 people...omgosh...I wouldn't know where to start...lol) so no need to worry about not knowing what's in the food in front of you.

The brunch should be no problem...if you are able to order breakfast, you'll be laughing with an omelette (ask for grilled tomato instead of pan fries or toast) and everywhere you go, there's always going to be a salad.

If the wedding is a buffet, you'll be doing great too. There's always the big roast or turkey platter, cold meats, salad..and all sorts of Atkinsy things. We've been to a couple big events and it was a breeze.

(I will admit that I did eat an obscene amount of peel'n'eat shrimp at a wedding last summer...lol)

But yes, eat a bit before you go so you aren't starving, and remember that these occasions are really about the socializing, so enjoy your family and friends. :yes have fun!
