On induction we ought to be aiming for 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs.

If you open a free 'account' at www.fitday.com you can enter all you eat and it will tell you what your percentages work out at.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Teelightful, may I ask what your GW is, ie how many pounds you would like to lose?

In another post you said you were 5'8 and 137lbs at start of Induction and had lost 8lbs during Induction - which puts you at 129lbs now.

You are posting in the extended Induction forum - so does that mean you are still doing Induction?

I am guessing you wouldn't have too many pounds left to lose which means you may not have a lot time to go through OWL. DANDR specifies to move onto Pre-Maintenance when you are 5-10lbs from GW.

As Elizellen says, on Induction we ought to be aiming for 65% fat/30% protein/5% carbs. By the time you get to Maintenance, we are told to aim for approx 50% fats, 30% protein

Atkins is a WOE that is LOW-CARB and NOT so much low-fat, so 50-55g fat daily is not necessarily a lot for some. I often eat 100-150g fats daily, and I tend to eat salmon, avocadoes, olive oil - these are good fats

Yes...those are my stats...I am still doing induction mainly because the scale hasn't budged and I want to lose 5 more lbs...From what I've read the weight loss slows down EVEN more as you move from stage to stage so I planned to stay on induction at least two more weeks to reach my "goal weight" and then ease into the other phases????? ensive

Unfortunately that isn't entirely true. Most OWLers lose 1-2 pounds per week, which is the "safe" weight loss rate recommended by most physicians.

As for staying on Induction until goal, some people do it---and usually they're the same people who post panicked threads in the Maintenance forum about losing too much weight or being too scared to eat a strawberry or worse, they post in the 14 day Induction forum a year later to say they regained their weight and starting Atkins all over again.

The other phases have two purposes 1. continued weight loss and 2. learning about your body so you can maintain your goal weight.
