  • Did I blow it?

I am 30 days into Induction. On day 4 I (accidentaly)had 22g of carbs (I didn't realise that artichoke hearts would be 6.9g!). Then on day 7 I had 3 glasses of red wine (a HUGE no-no in the first 14 days, I know). Since then I have not been able to get back into ketosis (I use strips) and I stopped losing. I have been consistantly eating less than 15g per day and drinking about 1 gallon water and half hour treadmill. Did I blow it by cheating in that vital first stage of induction? How can I re-fool my body/metabolism back into ketosis? Should I stop Atkins for a week and start from scratch? My motivation is back on track but my metabolism isn't following.

Goal I dont think you blew it and I certainly wouldnt sweat having 22 carbs in one day. Somedays you eat a lil more, somedays you eat a lil less, so they compensate for themselves.

Now, the wine... Was a no no, but you couldve done worse. But that was day 4 and 7 and your on day 30. If you havent cheated since then you should be in ketosis. I dont trust those strips at all, especially if you drink a buttload of water, i dont think they are accurate.

Keep on doing what your doing, only eating acceptable foods, and the weight and inches will come off!!! I am sure even though the scale hasnt moved you are probably losing inches as long as your following the rules

    Goodluck :hug

Have you posted your menus in the Review my Menu forum for advice yet?
Or if you keep a record on www.fitday.com you could post a link to your account.
You may be eating something you shouldnt!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
