      the Inches-A-Weigh program (www.inchesaweigh.com)

      LIFESTYLE CLASSES

      *** I WOULD NOT DO PHASE 1 ***
      Phase I Nutritional Counseling

Phase I is a nutritionally sound, family-eating plan following the guidelines of the American Heart, Cancer and Dietetic Associations. It is designed to introduce our clients to a healthy, nutritional lifestyle utilizing real foods, which we believe to be optimal for proper nutrition. Operationally, we never use the term "diet". We introduce our clients to personal menu planning, 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 20% fat for their daily caloric intake. During this time we also introduce our clients to a computerized dietetic analysis that will scientifically validate their weekly food diary and eating habits. This measures the percentage of total caloric intake, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and mineral intake. We have a small Inches-A-Weigh café with a variety of gourmet protein drinks, nutrition bars and vitamin supplements. Our retail products are optionally purchased, not a force-fed requirement like typical diet centers. These convenient supplements satisfy the daily binging, nibbling and emotional cravings, serving as low-fat substitutes for cookies, snacks and chips. Our nutritional café is an additional profit center for owners.

      Phase II Body Sculpting

Forty-five minutes devoted to gradual figure development with equipment specially designed for traditional female problem areas. "It's not the equipment that does the work, it's the body that is on it." This is accomplished with the use of low exertion; less strenuous and continuous range of motion equipment. Through progressive and isokinetic resistance, our clients begin to reshape and restore the elasticity of their unworked muscle groups. Resistance exercise helps restore muscle, increase the metabolism and energy level, increase bone density, improve sleep patterns and for many improve self-confidence and self-esteem. Clients are not burning fat or spot reducing. During this phase they begin to replace excess fat with lean muscle mass and rehabilitate deteriorated and deconditioned muscles. They are now ready for the cardiovascular fitness program.

      Phase III Cardiovascular Fitness

The last 15 minutes are designated to be more strenuous and cardiovascular. Aerobic equipment including treadmills, bicycles and light free weights are introduced to accelerate the metabolism, burn calories and condition the heart and muscle groups. We assist and encourage our clients to carefully monitor their heart rate, to insure that it is within the optimal fat burning range. Upon achievement of goal weight and the desired measurements our client is now familiar with Phase III, which she will continue using to maintain her new shape. She is now eligible for our "family forever" maintenance program and has her own "women's day spa" where she will continue to workout for the rest of her life.

Thanks for the information. Was it expensive? I did Curves before I had my son. I thought this may be better as I need a lot of toning and would love to get it done now versus having to have a tummy tuck, etc.
