  • Heat, humidity and water retention.

Am I the only one who retains a ship load of water when it gets hot and humid?
Last week it was comfortable, and not too humid,a nd my rings were loose and spinning. This week it is hot ( 90's ) and humid and I am holing water so bad I cannot even take my rings off! I know I am still in ketosis, but I am holding water and the scale is not moving becasue of it. How do I deal with this? I am drinking so much water that my urine is still almost clear, but it takes almost 2 gallons a day becasue I sweat so much.

    Anyone have any thoguths?

    Thanks
    Amy

      Hi Amy,

It is hot and humid here too! When I came back from my walk, I noticed that my fingers were swollen up. I don't weigh until tomorrow, so I don't know if I'm retaining water. There are natural diuretics, I know horseradish is one. You could try doing a search on the web, or go to your natural food store and ask them. Hang in there!

Well I'll be. I never considered the humidity and heat. My fingers have been swollen too and I'm drinking my water and not going heavy on salt!

Thanks guys! Glad to know I am not alone. The scale did move a pound today, but my rings are still SO tight. I guess I will have a big Whoosh in the fall huh? lol

BTW..Lemon juice is a natural diuretic

Well, I weighed myself today, didn't lose any weight, this is the first time it's ever happened. I'm eating right, exercising my buns off, so I'm going to assume I'm retaining water and not worry about it.

Re: Heat, humidity and water retention.

You are not alone...I was out in 95 degree weather on the 4th and woke up with a swollen stomach the next day.

I have stepped up my water drinking an additional 4 glasses.

I know it will go away...

I also know it may come back again....
