There are at least 6 ABP's around the hospital where I work and over the last 2 years it's become my lunch haven. Before this WOE I was getting roast beef + brie on a4 grain bun EVERY DAY b/c everything else looked suspect. Anyways, after starting induction, I switched to their salads and looked for the ones with the least amount of croutons for me to pick off. I eventually settled most days for their mediterranean chicken salad. On a whim I went o their website and it's got 14g of carbs! for a SALAD! Thats crazy talk. I guess they use cornstarch in a "seasoning" but I would never have guessed there was a seasoning in the salad in the first place. maybe that's why I was stalling. Needless to say now I go to the cafeteria and make my own salads! Beware the hidden carbs!

Re: Au Bon Pain SALADS
Yeah, it's hard to trust anything from any restaurant. I went to Boston Market the other day. I got 1/4 dark meat chicken with coleslaw & creamed spinach. I knew the coleslaw would probably have sugar, but the girl told me that the only thing in the spinach was cheese & oil. I looked it up on the website when I got home and the whole meal was over 40g of NET carbs. Unbelievable!
