Of course this pleased my hubby because he has always been a steak man. I learned to love steak places where I could get a nice salad, steak, chicken, or grilled veggies.. only downside was that it is a bit more pricey, especially for a family of 5.. but I guess that is not a bad thing cause we eat out alot less.(no more running through the drive thru window at mcdonalds)
Just order your food how you want it.. no sauces or non friendly ingredients.. We eat at one particular restaurant and my hubby always laughs when I order my chicken without the bbq sauce and tomatoes(I don't like tomatoes) and my salad without tomaotes, crutons, and dressing on the side. I figure if I am paying for it, I am gonna order it my way!
Just hang in there.. those stalls can be discouraging, I know. Just think about what you have lost already, and how healthy your body is becoming even when the scales don't show it!!

i like the way you phrased that. i always feel bad about eating out because i feel i am being a pain in the arse. everyone orders straight off the menu, yet i have to make it difficult. but you are right, i am paying so i will get what i want how i want it.

as for you clare, hang in there. everyone goes through this frustration. just remember that you could eat whatever you wanted, but you would just feel worse in the end. think about all the things you have gone through and made it. this is nothing compared to that. do you have a TGIFridays restaurant where you live? they offer an atkins menu as well as normal food.

WOOHOOO! Thanks everyone, today is a new day and I feel GREAT! I must say though, I wasn't until I forced myself to exercise ALL OUT yesterday....I'm sore as **** today, but exercise keeps my mind strong I think. The whole time while I'm doing it, I want to quit...but I talk to myself in my head...Well, kinda yell at myself...if I'm not hard on myself about it I will think of a million and one excuses not to do it. I find when I exercise I watch what I put in my mouth a lot better too. But ever since the hectic holiday I kinda fell off the exercise wagon, and it HURT! Magenta, I feel the same way about being a pain in the ***/causing a scene at restaurants...I just order the easiest thing, so I don't have to give weird instructions about how I want my food. The only place I found that accomodated me very well was Steak & Ale...and I don't mind eating out maybe twice a month and getting a Filet Mignon instead of eating out once a week and getting some dinky salad...I have never had asparagus so yummy before. Anyways, thanks to ALL of you! And STAY motivated! I'm hoping my motivation can be contagious just like all of yours was to me when I first started this WOE
      I <3 You all!

I don't trust a damn thing on the menu...there are just too many "things" that get put into food for flavor that are NOT diet friendly....
I'm going out for a meal on saturday night and this is a meal I'm really not looking forward to. Don't worry you're not alone with this. I'm going to try and eat before I go but I don't look forward to watching everyone else feeding their faces.
You'll be fine, I think we all feel **** about it sometimes.
