  • How long is to long?

How long is to long on the induction? I am comfortable on it after two months of it. I feel great some days and feel awful on others. I just started exercising more ( i walked my first mile tonight ). Can I exercise and stay on the induction?

You guys have been great. I know I dont participate that much but I do learn from you guys. So I want to say, THANKS!!!

You can definatly exercise while on induction, if i remember correctly you can stay on induction for up to 6 months, i could be wrong. The best thing would be to buy the book and read through it.

Good luck & congrats on all you have accomplished so far!

There are people who have been on induction for a year. Six months is fine, also.

The key is to be doing OWL by the time you only have 10 lbs to lose.

Oh, yah, I forgot to say that yes, you SHOULD exercise on induction! Some people wait until after the induction flu goes away, others start right up.

Go for it! Start slow, build up. Do both cardio AND weight training. It's important!

And by the way, what a noticeable difference! You look great.

Re: How long is to long?

I personally stayed on Induction for 13 months. The only thing my doc and blood work showed after 11 months was I should I have been eating some nuts and/or more fish. I agree with Finelly start slow with the exercise. Do as much as you are comfortable with, and build from their as your body tells you are ready for it. Myself once I saw the benefits of exercise (scale dropping even faster), I upped it without being told.

I would be remiss to not mention OWL. Going OWL doesn't necessarily mean your weight loss is going to slow down. It just means more choices and more responsibility for what you are eating. It took really a month or 6 weeks for me to feel great on this diet, but if you are still cycling between good and bad days, perhaps a move to at least the first rung (more veggies) is warranted. Just something to think about.

Re: How long is to long?

                  You're looking fantastic!!

Remember that the first rung of OWL is adding 5 carbs more of veggies, and if you feel you are into that, then go for it and stay at rung 1 for as long as you feel comfortable. I was on Induction for 5 months then naturally slipped into having more vegetables and was happy there, as I got to add more of the 1 cup veggies in (I loves me my broccoli and cauliflower!). There is no exact set time to stay on Induction or any of the rungs, so you can move up the ladder as you feel comfortable.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
