Diuretic Warning!!!

To all of my new friends:

Take Dr. Atkins warnings about this WOE and diuretics seriously. I read the book and somehow didn't pay attention to this vital info. For several years I have taken a diuretic in my BP meds. I'm a band director and went outside with my band and seriously dehydrated (in the hospital, 3 liters down, OK now). I love the diet, but you MUST read carefully. I refuse to come off the diet. I never thought I could live without sweet things, No cravings for 2 weeks! It is working for me! 10 pounds, 3 inches off waist in 19 days!!!!

I'm glad you're okay. Lipolysis/ketosis has a strong diuretic effect. Maybe you should sit down with your doctor and re-evaluate your blood pressure medications.

Here's the good news - BP Meds cut in half, diabetes meds cut by 75%, no more diuretic. Who says this diet isn't good for you!!!!!

Hey what band do you direct? Is it a HS band and you're practicing for field shows? I used to do that in HS (colorguard) if you direct those! They are so fun!

I have to take a diuretic, but for people that do, they absolutely have to tell their doctor that they are on Atikins because it does affect the amount of medication you need. I also drink a gallon of water a day to flush it all through.

How about diet pills and Atkins if you're drinking enough water? I've been wanting to try to the thermogenic ones for a few years again, after I did have some loss on them 6 years ago (but that was one of the ones that had ephedra in it, and I've since developed an intolerace...plus I know it's not great for you). I realize that most of them still have caffeine, but so far caffeine has not caused me a problem.
