Re: Old Clothes..
My plan is to dress a bit more second hand until i get to goal. I'd love to shop at some of those places or similar names in womens attire anyway, but I dont want to spend a ton on transition clothing.
Meanwhile, Ebay would probably be a good solution for your old stuff.

Re: Old Clothes..
I gave all my big clothes away to family and friends who could wear them. There is a store that I go to often called Wall's discount store. They buy from businesses that went under(bankrupt) or even from insurance companies(fire salvage)
Now don't think I am buying burnt clothes, LOL
But I do buy jeans when they are $4. and t-shirts that are $2 dollars. I have got more clothes now from Wall's than I did when I was so fat.
It is so much more fun to look for clothes when you can buy, size 14's and they fit. I have a few size 12 that fit a bit snug. So I am holding them til later.
Another alternative, I gave the dang fat clothes away, I am not going back to those sizes. I won't I won't I won"t!!!!
Hope you can turn your clothes into cash. How about a garage sale!Last edited by Becky Sue; July 30, 2005, 08:29 PM.

Re: Old Clothes..
I give a lot of my clothes to Goodwill the first time I cleaned out my closet. This past time, I put them on Ebay. I made some decent money. And, I just bought some Guess and Hilfiger from Ebay. Not a bad price and luckily the clothes were not mis-represented.F/25 years old/5'5"

Re: Old Clothes..
Depending on the clothes, I have sold them on Ebay and given away part of them to a thrift shop. I normally don't like to spend a lot of money on clothes, so I seem to go to a thrift shop a lot to look for clothes. I have found brand new pants/jeans/shirts in which they only cost me $2.00. I just bought a pair of Liz Claiborne slacks for $2.00 during my last visit there. I'm super cheap right now. Since I'm not planning for the clothes to stay in my wardrobe for long, I don't want to spend a lot of money on them.

Re: Old Clothes..
I agree with you, Debbie - I also hope my clothes continue to be too big!! At the moment I am finally fitting into clothes that I kept that I had grown out of. It is a good feeling. Everytime I look at clothes in the store/catalogues, and see the prices, I tell myself that my time will come, because when I reach goeal - LOOK OUT - I am off to shoppingville!!

Re: Old Clothes..
I think it did alot for me to get the BIG clothes out of my house. In the past I always knew I could fall back into the BIG clothes when I failed and gained the weight back.
This time it is different. I know I am not going to go back to the old distructive way of eating. I have changed my WOL and I plan on living this way the rest of it.

Theres some place I've heard about, for Teens to sell their used names brand clothes. I can't for the life of me think of the name though. Search the internet, you are bound to come up with something335/265/230

Re: Old Clothes..
I'm not sure what you have where you live, but here are a few ideas:
1. Look in your phone book in the yellow pages. My phone book has a section called "Clothing Bought & Sold." Most of the listings are for children's clothes here, but there are a few others. Based on where you live, you may find more.
2. Go to a consignment shop and see what they offer.
3. We have a teen store in Tallahassee called "Urban Threads" that exchanges clothes. It lets you drop off your clothes and pick up something else in the store.
4. I found a website that appears that you can exchange clothes online. I haven't looked it over or anything yet, but here's the website - http://www.clothesagency.com/
I hope this helps a little.

Re: Old Clothes..
that site looks like its more for the UK, which wouldnt be too bad but their fashion sense/styles are different so my clothes wouldnt do well on that site but thank you very much!! theres a store called "Platos Closet" there is one about 100 miles away from me, closest =(. So, im debating whether or not i should do it with ALL my clothes or not. that is one discussion i need to have with my mom. They only go up to a 2X in shirts but i have a lot of 3X's. AHHH lol i still have hope theres a resale store out there for me!20 - m - ny
