  • Psyllium - how do you take it??

I bought some psyllium husks in powder form today. Luckily, the had 50% off on Atkins apple drink so I bought that too. I made a little of the apple drink and added the powder to it. Wasn't as bad as i thought. Looking for some other creative ideas to get down 2 servings of psyllium a day though!

I used to make psyllium pancakes, but now I make them with ground flax instead. Either way, it's an easy way to get extra fiber. Do a search in recipes for psyllium or flax.

I take them as capsules, two a day. They work beautifully!

With these making your carbs go WAY up, its still ok to use it as long as your net carbs are 20 or below right? I just dont want to get a carb overload.

Better check what is in the Apple juice for ingredients allowed on induction remember!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

It says on the back of the box that the apple drink is good for all stages of Atkins. I just can't take that powder in plain water!! There are 5 grams of carbs in the psyllium but 5 grams of fiber as well so I believe it just cancels each other out?? I hope I am right because I have been taking it twice a day the last few days.

Much better to look at the actual ingredients to decide if the manufacturer is stretching the 'allowed foods' list.

Some of the special lowcarb products makers seem to think that if a product has 'only a little' of an ingredient that is not allowed they can still say it is fine for induction!!
