Hey you guys is it ok to eat animal fat i.e dripping/lard as opposed to butter because i looked in DANDR 2002 and it doesn't say whether it is or is not.

Drippings and lard are fine.
Some people try to avoid saturated fats and stick more with the routinely recognized "good" fats like olive oil, but DANDR only prohibits trans-fats which are usually labled as hydrogenated or partially-hydrogenated.
There have been new studies suggesting that saturated fats aren't evil after all. The more time goes by, the more studies come out supporting Dr. Atkins, whether they realize it or not.

This sounds weird, but what kind of lard are you talking about? If it's the lard that comes in the containers in the store, then you might want to think twice about that stuff. If it's the lard that results after frying a pork chop or some other fatty cut of meat, then that's not too bad because it's about 40-60 % unsaturated.
