  • Breakfast Ideas?

Anyone have any good breakfast ideas, for extended induction? I have been on induction for almost a month now and I am getting tired of eating eggs everyone morning. Any suggestions of whatelse I can have for breakfast?

    Thanks, Susan

    Ready...set...PELT HER WITH SUGGESTIONS. heh

Susan, there's no reason in the world for you to be eating eggs every morning.

Just cuz it's morning, who says you have to eat eggs?! Breakfast for me this morning was steak and spaghetti squash.

One of my favorite breakfasts is a taco salad. <shrug> I just love them! LOL

Dinner left overs are an easy and quick breakfast. Mock danishes, mock cinnamon apples with heavy cream, homemade flax cereal, etc etc.

I'd strongly suggest you spend some serious amounts of time in the recipe section of this site and other low-carb sites. If you haven't done that, it's bound to be a REAL eye opening experience.

        3rd that!

Taco Salad is my fav breakfast item too! Always have it onhand by 3# or so as my kids eat the stuff as well.

Leftovers make really great breakfasts. I only eat eggs maybe twice a week. More than that and I would gag. There are several breakfast stratta type recipes in a recipe thread going on in the STAC forum right now if you want to check it out.

Open your mind to all sorts of foods! This is a new beginning for you!

I'm still enjoying boiled eggs...mainly because I can't actually think before 10 am, lol, and it's just so darn easy to peel an egg. This morning I had two along with a big hamburger patty from a BBQ the night before.
On days off though I dig into leftovers from the night before. I've always enjoyed eating dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner.

          Have whatever you want!

I have Carb Solutions shakes, Atkins Advantage Shakes, Morningstar Sausage, eggs. Cucumbers, Leftover taco salad meat with avocado. Crustless Quiche.

Sometimes I make a batch of Crustless Quiche freeze them and have them in the morning. I make mine with Mushrooms.

A note to those of you doing Extended Induction, the shakes are not allowed. It's best to have real food (preferably a protein/fat combo) to give your body that metabolic jumpstart that it needs in order to burn fat as efficiently as it can.

I often make Pau's breakfast quiches - I divide the mixture into the 12 holes on my muffin tin and so have a whole weeks breakfast in the fridge to eat with some cherry tomatoes. That is if my DH doesnt spot them and swipe some for a midnight snack!!

I always enjoy a flax cookie every once in awhile, with some sugarless hot cocoa. You can find the flax cookie recipe here.
Or if you like fish, try some salmon with cream cheese, sans the bagel.

I am not great in the a.m. so I eat two mozarella cheese sticks for breakfast while driving to work. But, that quiche sounds good! I have never been able to eat big in the a.m. so this satisfys me.

What is flax meal? Is this located around the flour in the grocery store?

That's where I saw the flax meal, next to the flour.

I can stand eggs very often, so I sometimes have turkey bacon/cream cheese rollups. SO good.

Tuna salad is great, dinner from the night before - sometimes I nosh on my leftover Cavewoman Pork Ribs. You could throw together your own low-carb shake using pumpkin, Eggbeaters (to avoid salmonella), ground cinnamon, cream cheese, etc.

Only your imagination limits you; you can have anything for breakfast. It doesn't necessarily have to be cereals and bread products. Enjoy!!

We had the Bacon and Swiss Quiche this morning and it is fabulous!! You can find it here: http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/bacon_and_swiss_quiche.html

I've actually have eaten a bunless cheeseburger and grean bean fries for breakfast, along with other lunch/dinner options. In my neck of the woods we sometimes eat breakfast for dinner so why not dinner for breakfast.
