  • Should I be eating all my veges? Stall?

I've moved on to extended induction now and for the first week or so it was ok but now I'm worried that I'm a bit stalled.

I don't seem to be loosing inches (either that or really slow) and I'm still at 187 for 2 or so weeks now.

I have noticed that I don't eat veges at every meal. It's not that I don't like them just that it's not really convenient sometimes. I'll plan on fixing this ..

Anway ... would this change things?

Also.. I'm thinking of moving on to OWL since some people have reported accelerated losses again.

burtonator - A stall isn't a stall until you've lost no pounds or inches for 4 weeks or more. Pounds OR inches for 4 weeks.

Eating healthy isn't always convenient, which is why you've got to make extra effort to plan ahead Get them in there!

Would it change things? Not necessarily, but you're not stalled anyway.

Patience. Weight loss in not a linear process. You're not going to get rewarded every week by the scale or tape measure, but you can't let that stop you from doing what you know is healthy for you!!

This isn't a race and it's not about losing weight fast, right? It should be about losing it ONCE.

Hang in there. You're doing fine. And get those veggies in!

General rule of thumb for success: If it requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce it, you probably shouldn't eat it.

It's VERY common for people to hit a plateau sometime betwee weeks 4 and 6. It can last up to 3 weeks.

Think of it this way: your body has dropped a tremendous amount of weight quickly. It needs to pause and adjust before continuing to let go of that nasty fat.

You'll find some posts about this on threads about the PISS (Post-Induction Stall) if you do a search.

I know that I "pause" every 3 weeks or so and hang out at a given weight for awhile before I drop down some more. There's nothing to do except keep plugging away.

HOWEVER.....you are probably continuing to lose INCHES during this time. If you aren't measuring every 2 weeks, this is an excellent time to start.
      Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
      218/187/140
      Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

It's amazing. There is SO much information that's not in the Atkins book. I've never heard of the post induction stall but I'll look now.

Sometimes I think we should all write a companion book to DANDR..
