  • Totally Unprepared - Totally My fault

This weekend was definitly a learning experience for me. I have done very well on this way of life so far. I went on Atkins mid January and before this weekend I had weighed in around 153. Well the story goes downhill from there folks. I went to Bristol this weekend for the race and started off prepared. I made chicken salad for my trip down b/c I knew Sean (hubby) would go for fast food. Well I was wrong but thats beside the point. We left the hotel after a good breakfast at Shoneys and arrived at the race early am. My husbands work had a hospitality tent and all previous races the foods been okay. I could pick my way around it and get by. Well not this time. We didn't eat until 3pm and I was starving (mistake #1). I told him that there was zero for me to eat and I was just going to have to eat it b/c there wasn't anything else I could do. I also knew that if I ate it I was going to be hungry later b/c I was screwing my body up. Well it did and I was right. What a thing to be right about. I am happy to say that I came right home and got 100% back on b/c I have working too hard for too long to mess myself up for the long haul. My point in all of this being.... I was reminded after this weekend of how much I need this way of life and that I cannot do it on my own. I will use this set back as a temp one and make that much more effort to not make the same mistake twice. I will pack a cooler next time and be prepared.

    Thanks everyone for your support.
Weighing in this morning at 157, but not for long.

Sorry you got caught unprepared, but really glad that you didn't use it as an excuse to totally blow off the diet. It's not a wasted experience if you learn from it.

I know just what ya mean. Friday I went to dinner with my hubby and blew it. I got right back on the horse and rode down the staight and narrow. The fact that you didn't let it concume you and start a trend of poor eating is great. Be proud of yourself for you little accomplishments and keep working on the bigger ones.Michele

amen, jpierce! Your thread is extremely timely, with holidays fast approaching! 2big talks about keeping an emergency kit at all times, stocked with food items you can eat which will keep you safe.

I want to say that it is unfortunate that our society's food tents are stocked with foods many people can't tolerate glycemically-speaking!

In short, it's like a big, fat drug-tent!

          Where are the healthy eats?!

If Greg Biffle does another interview saying he's "happy" with 2nd place I'm not going to root for him any more.
