I joined curves today. They are close to me and I'm looking forward to it. I am so frustrated as I have been on atkins for 2 months and have only been able to lose 3 pounds. I did try to walk as much as I could, but was inconsistent with it. I did buy their diet book which I will read with an open mind. I have to do somethng. I love...and I mean really love doing atkins...but I need to lose some weight!! I've cut this out and cut that out and it has not seemed to help.

    Any comments appreciated, thank you

Congratulations on joining Curves - I have heard a lot of good things about them. Were you doing any exercise on your own before you joined Curves?

Hi Brenda...were you using Fitday to make sure your percentages were close to the mark? Eating any process stuff? Hidden carbs? Too much Splenda? Too much cheese? Drinking all your water and more? Maybe you can post your stats and a few detailed menus and some of the experienced people here can help you. You can still do Atkins and their exercise.

Can you post a menu/fitday? Hard to tell without knowing more.

Good for you for committing to an exercise program. As we say around here, if you're not exercising, you're not doing Atkins!

I also agree about posting some menu's. There may be some things that you can tweak.

                  Brenda,

I've been thinking about joining curves too. Is it expensive? Can you give me a general ballpark figure of how much it will cost? Do you have to join for a whole year or can you go month to month?

How much weight do you have to lose?

Curves is $29 a month if you you sign for a year, it might be more if you do month to month. I loved curves and went religiously since last Nov. but recently have grown tired of the circuit so I need to find something else. But the women there are GREAT and it is fun! Also, poof 30 minutes and you're done!

I have not figured out fit day yet. A time thing. I use a lot of recipes off the web or out of low carb cookbooks. So can those be entered on fitday? Went over menu with a couple of gals at work (that I just found out were atkins girls), they are really surprised that I did not lose weight. Went to the doc today got a thyroid test.

                          Re: Joined Curves Today

Curves was 70 dollars joining fee then 30 a month. I have not figured out fit day yet. I do a lot of recipes out of low carb book or recipes off the web, as apposed to stright meat. Can that be entered of fit day?

Monday was sausage and eggs for breakfast. Chicken breast for dinner and grilled zuchinni. There was a few diet soda with splenda and some pork skins (rins?). Went over menu's with some atkins girls at work. They don't understand why I would not of lost a good 10 pounds by now. Anyhow, curves said start eatting normal (off program) and then start their eatting program Monday. I have not had the time to read the book yet. I don't know, I have loved atkins...except for the part about not losing weight.

I went and saw my doc today. He took a thyroid test, so we shall see how that comes back. He said just keep doing it. But I'm at the point that I am so frustrated! I did not stay on atkins today or yesterday...and to be honest...I don't blame myself. I'm surprised I've been as patient as I have been. It just seems like it is back to staving if I want to lose weight. I'm tired of it. I don't want to spend the rest of my life hungry and not being able to eat and have a good time.

Most days on the diet I would have bacon and eggs or sausage and eggs for breakfast, maybe muchrooms & spinach with some feta cheese for lunch, or maybe a cassorole of 4 carbs. Then at the most maybe 8 carbs at dinner (a casserole or maybe a taco salad). The carbs are not even minus the fiber.
