  • Senior year has begun..started very well!

Okay well i am a senior in high school now and going clothes shopping, i bought almost all of my tee-shirts in an XL which i havent fit into since around the 5th grade and im being totally serious with you guys too. jeans im still a 42 but it feels great to be able to wear them! i've been stuck at 299 (not so bad considering im under 300) and it's becuase i havent done the diet strict. I keep saying i am and i need to but i don't. yesterday, i started strict again and today i feel great! I think i need that first day to put me back into my place! I recieved 5 compliments in school during the first day so i know i've done something! my english teacher who i had last year, as soon as i walked in the room he used his hands to show the shrinking in size motion i was like yes lol and he said i was looking good. my friend who i hadnt seen since june came up to me and told me i lost a lot of weight and i looked good. someone came from behind and said they thought it was me but werent sure because i looked a lot slimmer. and my favorite was my friend i hadnt seen since june telling me that i look amazing and that he was in shock as to how much weight i lost and how great i looked. he then told my friends (who are girls) that he couldnt believe it and i look so different (i really dont but its nice to hear) and he said if he was a girl, he would have already wanted me! hahaha! made me laugh b/c hopefully soon ill be confident enough lol something that i think will also give me drive is spring break 06! i didnt think i was going to go because i dont have any money saved (im a big spender) and i pretty much am getting my car which ive been driving for the past 7 months because its my grandmas car and i take her everywhere she needs to go, she pays the payment, my parents are paying my insurance even though they said they wouldnt and i need to pay for the gas so i can afford to put money away and save it for #1, PROM #2, Spring Break 06 in April, #3, Senior Year. Also, we are in the process of selling our house and i might be getting my own apartment thing for about a year and i would get roughly 2K to fix it a little and 1K from the parents so i would say spring break 06 is going to happen in april and that should drive me! haha sorry for my shpeil. i hate it when i dont come here, i lose my focus! lol

Ok, now let's talk about this.
You have lost about a 100 pounds, right? You've got to wrap your mind around the fact that you DO look different now...especially to people who haven't seen you in a while.
When you look at yourself every day in the mirror you don't see the changes happening...which is why some people get so frustrated....but it's when you look at an old picture, or run into someone you haven't seen for a while that you get reminded about how far you've come...and you need to be reminded sometimes. I know I do.
Embrace these compliments! Enjoy them! Know that you worked for them and you deserve them! Most importantly, believe them.
You not only look different, you ARE different now, aren't you? Stronger, wiser and more in control of things...and this is going to help you in all areas of your life, not just your food choices.

    Great update...thanks for sharing that!

I agree with Moochie. Your friends would have to be blind to not recognize the changes. I am sure they are really impressed by your determination. Good luck to having a great senior year!

Wow, a senior!! This is going to be your best year yet, and it is already starting with the compliments you are receiving from your friends. And...it sounds like you have a great bunch of friends who are giving you motivation by the excitement they are showing over your weight loss. I agree with Moochie and Bowulf. Accept the compliments....you deserve them! You worked hard and it has paid off. That in itself is motivation to keep going and stay focused on getting as healthy as you can.

We are here for you! Come to the ADBB as often as you need to. You know that we are always here to lend you support and motivation!! Have a wonderful year and enjoy your new life. Your strength and positive attitude is paying off big-time!!

                ((goal65))

You have done a wonderful job! I'm sooo proud of you and for you! What a great group of friends you have to share wonderful compliments--lovin' the one about the guy would dig you if he was a girl...too cute.

Let's talk exercise. I consider myself the hater of the big "E" word...it was not allowed to be spoken in my house for many years. Find something you enjoy doing, yes, exercise can be fun (trust me!)...and do it! Walk the track at lunch time...just find something to do and do it.

Enjoy Senior year! It's going to be an awesome one for you!

I'm so excited for you! You are gonna have a wonderful senior year! Does your school have a track? Grab some friends and walk around it after school, or go to school a little early and walk. I never thought I liked to exercise, then I started lifting weights and discovered I loved it! I wish I had known I would love it when I was as young as you are! Give it a try, see what you think! Can't wait to see pictures of you in your prom tux!

You are doing great! Keep up the great work!

I still remember the people from school that came back from summer break and had lost alot of weight. I remember thinking how amazing they were. It really makes a difference going 2-3 months without seeing someone.

It's hard work and discipline that make it happen and YOU DID IT. Keep it up, even though you are going to be tempted by alot of bad things, and the stress of senior year.

Take the time to enjoy it, you've earned it.
