  • Overeating!!

Boy, do old habits die hard. Went to a Sunday School get together last night where we had an "everybody bring something" buffet. My wonderful class made many no-carb things I could eat, but I ate way too much! I didn't exceed the carb limit, but I feel bad this morning! A lesson to be learned.......... On a positive note, tho, my class is so sweet and thoughtful!!!!

It's wonderful that people care so much about you that they would bring things they knew you could eat! It could be there was something that had sugars in it that the person making it didn't relate to as sugar. A lot of well-meaning people do that who don't understand Atkins! *lol*

Way too recognize where you went awry, but in some breath congratulations on sticking with the diet (or rules). IMHO it is much more desirable to eat too much of a "good" thing than to start partaking of "off the plan" items. You get none of the cravings back, and it was an event (not a daily occurance). Shake it off, and learn from the experience.

PS I wish my Sunday school gettogethers were as nice with low carb options.

        Re: Overeating!!

Another thing that I've been doing is taking my own dishes with me when I go somewhere. I know that sounds absolutely stupid, but I have had a problem with portion control - and its been a good way for me to control my servings. I have a small bowl...like a baby's cereal bowl for 'bowl foods' and I have a plate that is 1/2 the size of a regular serving plate. I use these dishes every time I eat and it helps me to keep from overeating. No, I never ever go back for seconds!!
