  • I'm Baccckkk

    Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in like a month, but I have been sick for a while, one thing after another keeps hitting me and I kind of lost my inspiration to go to the gym and log on each day to see your skinny faces... but I am slowly feeeling better and going to attempt a gym session today. I cheated a few times this last month, mostly because my doc (who is an Atkins Advocate!!) said I would get better faster if I just ate and rested), and I only gained 3 lbs back, and honestly that could be my body protesting the fact that I am not sweating it out for 1.5 hours every day anymore.

So wish me luck as I continue on my way to skinnydom.

Also, does anyone have any advice about working out/eating 20g carbs after being quite ill for an extended amount of time? I am sure I will just listen to my body at the gym, but sometimes a really good song comes on and gets me going, and I want to avoid severe malaise post-workout

Do you think I need to re-induce? My "cheating" involved eating maybe like 30 g carbs, mostly extra veggies, some milk for my belly etc. It's not like I went on a dessert eating ice cream /pasta binge (ssssickkkkkk!!)

With any return to a vigorous exercise regime, which I would classify 1.5 hours/day as being, I would suggest easing back into it and performing extra stretching beforehand. Pay attention to what your body is telling you. If you are sore, you can push through it, but pain, on the other hand, is it telling you to stop.

Also make sure you are well-hydrated. If there is anything that drags me down afterwards is when I haven't been as vigilant drinking before and after working out.

If you want to be back in plan but OWL, I would just get myself back into ketosis and start back the rungs you were doing. If you want to do E.I., well there is no difference between that and first 14 days (except for maybe nuts). It's up to you -- getting into ketosis if you are out of it should be the first step.
