  • First month down!

Today is the end of month 1 for me. I've stayed on Induction the entire time, because I like it. I'm comfortable with it, and honestly, the idea of Splenda or anything else along those lines (fillers, nitrates, etc) sort of scares me.

I may move on to yogurt sometime soon, but I've not decided yet. I'm still trying to find a completely unsweetened yogurt, but the ones I've found in the grocers here are all flavored as "vanilla" if they're plain.

Oh, and I've lost 13lbs total this past month. Not as fast as some people, but I take some medications that I absolutely can not stop taking or adjust in any way, so I'm happy with the 13lbs. As long as the lbs are going down instead of up, it's a good thing.

    Re: First month down!

Congratulations on your One Month Atkinsversary!! Yes, 13 pounds is definitly something to celebrate!

I lost slow the first month, come to think of it the 2nd month too, but I'm a slow loser (don't know if that helps you or not. lol! Anyways...).

Best wishes adding in the yogurt. I've always liked Blue Bunny 5 Carb (our walmart carries it). And sticking to the vanilla flavor is best until you reach the fruit rung of this WOE (OWL).

I'd take what Lisa said and even go so far as to stay away from vanilla and only buy plain. Sometimes sugar is added to the vanilla. I buy plain and add a packet of Splenda and a Tbsp flax seed meal. It is really filling.

Way to go on your first month! My guess is that you are following OWL! Make sure you check that forum out, too.

        Re: First month down!

13 pounds in a month is great! 13 divided by 4 (weeks) is 3.25 pounds a week!!! That ROCKS! Don't be afraid to move up the rungs. I have lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks. It adds a bit of variety and helps you on your way to learning how to eat at maintence. You can spend as much time as you want on each rung.

Well done with your first month Ailinn That's terrific!!
And it is a good idea to start to climb the OWL rungs now to introduce extra types of food and not feel restricted.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                    Re: First month down!

Thanks so much for all the positive energy! It really keeps me going.

I didn't measure any, but my bra that was overflowing now has some extra space, my shirts don't feel tight across the back/shoulders (you girls know what I mean), and my pants are kinda saggy in the back. Never thought I'd be so happy to have a saggy bottom.
