  • what's for lunch?

    Hi,
I have been struggling on induction, cheating here and there, and therefore, not getting the results I want.
This is day 3 for me, where I haven't cheated (although I haven't given up caffine) Other than that, I'm doing pretty good.
Lunch for me today was chicken salad on a bed of lettuce, and 2 oz of string cheese. Plus, lots of water!
    Have a nice day

    Your lunch sounds really good!
Today I have leftover soup that I made last night...you can find the recipe in the Induction forum in the "What's for Dinner?" thread in the 14 Day forum...it's the Meatball soup with Asian flavours.

Usually I'll have extra meat from dinner on hand and many days I'll just quickly break off some broccoli or cauliflower, slice up zucchini, grab some radishes (whatever veggies I have on hand) and take that with a small container of blue cheese or ranch dressing to dip it all in.
Where I work is very awkward to eat anything that needs cutting (no proper lunch table) so finger foods, or soups, or casseroles...anything that needs fingers or fork is best.

I can get ridiculously excited about my lunches...and I used to be a person who would take a granola bar and that was my only sustenance for a five hour shift.

Make sure to always have yummy foods on hand, and when you are facing that cookie(or whatever is your downfall) consciously ask yourself what that food has ever really given you that's been a benefit to your life.
Feed your craving, but give it Induction friendly food. When my body would be pouting for sweets I'd go ahead and eat something, but I'd have a devilled egg, or a piece of pepperoni (foods that previously I would never eat because they were too fatty!!) I taught my body that if I was hungry, I could eat, but I would not be eating what my craving was asking for.
Sure, I had some cranky days, but in the long run, it was the best thing I ever did.

Remember that caffiene can mess with your insulin levels, which in turn can trigger cravings, so think about switching to decaf. You can go half-caf for a while as your body adjusts and then go full decaf. I enjoy my morning cup just as much as I ever did now.

I'm having a salad with shredded turkey, a bit of tomatoe, cucumber, celery, and some ranch dressing. I am also having water to drink.

          For Lunch today,

I'm having the leftovers from last night's Jamaican carry out---peppered shrimp and spicy eggplant. I'm also having a green salad, with the usual Induction veggies but some OWL additives.

I've gotten into the habit of eating "bigger" lunches than dinners. By "bigger", I mean more calorie dense and more carb dense. It's really helped me because that hour right before dinnertime is when I get really hungry and makes the tendency to overeat a reality. By eating "large" at lunch, I'm not as hungry before dinner so I can control myself alittle better.

Not2late, I am jealous of your Jamaican lunch. No fair!

My lunch was good though too:

            Spicy chicken salad:

boneless chicken breast covered in Franks Red Hot sauce
            half an avocado
            romaine lettuce
            sliced tomato
            1 ounce of shredded cheddar
            ranch dressing

            yum yum
