  • when did you start seeing results?

    Hi everybody,
    I'm on cheat-free day 6. I'm one of those that needs to see immediate results. I put on a pair of jeans today, that still feel tight around the butt/middle. I don't know if I'm losing (I won't buy another scale until my clothes start fitting again). Just curious, besides more energy, when did you really start getting results?

    Immediately, but if I remember correctly I saw the weight fall before any noticable slackening of the clothes. A man can hide a lot of weight in the small of the back and around the upper torso. I guess a woman could be losing a lot on the hips and thighs without feeling any difference in her clothes.

    Later losses might be noticed more in fit than in weight.

    That was my experience, anyway.

      I'm in the same boat. I noticed results the day after I started exercising and cut back on my calories - but I did that when I felt the satisfying feeling from ketosis so I wouldn't feel as hungry. Actually, I don't know if you are exercising (I hate it, personally) but I weighed in on my day 6 and found I had only lost 2 pounds. That VERY day, I exercised and then weighed in the very next morning and lost 2 more pounds - that's how big of a difference it can make. I only excercised for about 10 minutes pushing it pretty hard. In the meantime, it helps to get the keto detector strips (in the pharmacy aisle) that way you can see that you're burning fat and losing something, even if you can't see anything physically yet.

        I saw immediate results but not in my clothes. I lost in my face, fingers, neck etc. first. It took 30 pounds before I finally went down a pant size. Granted those pants were bursting before I started Atkins. I went down 2 sizes in pants with the next 20 pounds. I think that it will only take 10 pounds to see the next size.

          I started seeing results once the scale stopped throwing its arms across its face everytime I went in the bathroom to brush my teeth.


          At about 75- 100 pounds!

            I really saw results very soon too, after 14 days I was 6 pounds down and had lost 3 inches, indeed that was very encouraging and it made me feel like I could really do this thing, so I hear you on the wanting to see results so you get motivated.
            After a while though that changes, now I don't need the exact results to be motivated enough to stay on the programm, cause I KNOW they are gonna show eventually, so I stick to the plan anyway, even though I haven't seen the scale moving or the measurements changing, I know I will get the woosh I deserve for being a good girl hehehehe

              I lost aound 8 pounds in the first two weeks and although I couldn't see a huge difference my trousers are definately loose. That said, for the last few days I have not weighed myself because I stalled a bit and I found it disheartening - but although I haven't seen and more ig changes I think the thing that motivates me most is that I'm finally doing it - properly and for life. It makes me feel thinner just knowing I'm doing something...

              if that makes sense?

                seeing results really depends on how much total weight you needed to lose before you started. Many of the folk who have answered were Century club members and for them 1 pounds was less then 1% of what they needed to lose so they got bigger numbers then you will for their induction losses. you need to lose 23 pounds so 1 pound will be 4% of your total and a much more signigican loss of you but smaller size loss then the bulky fat pounds lost by the superheavyweights during induction.
                The important thing is you are getting healthier and smaller use your tapemeasure and see the inches of fat leaving your body even if it is only in small increments it will add up.

                  I lost off my feet first...LOL! I would suggest that you take your measurements. I am losing more from my other parts of my body rather than my waist..so while..the jeans still feel snug around my waist they are getting baggy in the butt and leg area. Get the tape measurer because that will let you 'see' better.

                    As you can see from my Before photos, I carried a lot of my extra weight all around my torso. While I carry my weight rather evenly and was certainly heavy all over then, this area got the worst of it! My back (especially upper back), upper arms, chest, lower and especially upper abdominals, and really the whole stomach area were largely where the weight went.

                    That said, it was the first to go - and goodness, what a relief that was. Carrying so much of my weight in that area, I always felt so hot all the time!! Now that it is gone, that is no longer an issue. Though I began dropping weight immediately with Atkins, I didn't see a change in the mirror that actually started to satisfy me until after the first 3 weeks. At that point, there was no stopping me!

                    P.S: I lost weight in my feet, too! My shoe size went from about a 6½ to a 5.

                      I saw immediate results, BUT it wasnt until about 2 weeks into Atkins that I first pulled on a pair of jeans I havent worn in two years and realized that they didnt even fit, but were a little big. Before that, I was just aware that my clothes were starting to not feel as tight as before.
