  • Opposite of carb creep

Hi all! I'm on day 19 today and have been kind of eyeballing stuff the past few days. This is because I got really caught up in Fitday and accounting for each little thing, and I really needed a break from obsessing over every bite of food. So I went back to Fitday today and input my menu and I've had 7 carbs all day, and that's after having some almonds to get the carbs up (I decided to add them because they've never stalled me). I can't imagine eating anything else today. I have zero appetite. The thought of a salad makes me gag.

I think I've been really low on the carbs the past few days. I've lost a couple of pounds, but I'm wondering if this is a super bad thing. Is it?

    Thanks bunches in advance.

You're ok as long as your getting enough fiber to digest properly. Just make sure you eat SOMETHING every 6 hours (you know the drill ).

        Re: Opposite of carb creep

Thanks, Slim, I do know the drill! I try to eat something every few hours. I've been waiting to stop feeling like I'm starving, and I guess it's happened!

Aphex, I try to have some veggies at every meal (i.e. I had a cheeseburger today with lettuce and tomato, yesterday I had cheese slices with fresh green beans). I guess I just thought these little bits of veggies here and there throughout the day would add up to a lot more carbs.

Since you have chosen to stay on extended induction, please read this thread.
          Rules of Induction
You may consider going on to the next phase of OWL (Ongoing weight loss) if you are wanting to add foods like nuts.
A good idea for you to read the FAQ section of this forum. You will find lots of answers to your questions.
If you haven't got the book, Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, (2002 edition) Please get it and read it. It is very important that you understand the process of how this WOE works.
          Happy Low Carbing!

            Re: Opposite of carb creep

The FAQ (which I've read) doesn't address low daily carb counts, which is why I posted my thread. I have read the book, and I feel nuts are acceptable on extended induction without having to move into OWL (I didn't eat them the first two weeks, per the book and the rules of induction), and I know for a fact that they don't stall me. I didn't mention adding any other foods.

I suggest you post your menu on (Review my menu) and see what the experts have to say.
It is obvious you are really up tight. You will get it worked out. We all go thru some rough times figuring out what works for each and every one of us. I wish you the very best.

Uptight? Um, okay. Thanks for the insight.

                  Hi Tracy

I know what you mean about the carb count, mine is frequently low too and I get the not wanting o eat anymore thing also. I think it's best not to eat more if you're not hungry because there's no point forcing yourself, and if nuts don't stall you I'm VERY JEALOUS I'm a pig when it comes to nuts so daren't add them myself, but I think they're okay on extended induction too.

My weight loss has stalled again the last few days, but I seem to be developing a pattern so I don't think its to do with the low carbs, my body just tends to stop and start...

Have you measured youself, I found that even when I am stuck on the scales I am still losing inches (well milimetres anyway )

You can vary your veggies. Lettuce is very low in carbs and very low in vitamins and minerals. The higher carb "salad" veggies are radishes, jicama, peppers. You can even eat your 1 cup of "other veggies" which are higher in carbs and higher in vitamins and minerals.

                      Hey Traceymax

No insight, except eat carbier veg. BTW I also eat nuts on EI and find they don't stall me at all.

My hubby and I eat nuts in controlled portions on EI and they don't stall us either. But I too would recommend a wider variety of veggies to add fiber and carbs.
