  • Yea me!!

I did great for 6 months and then I cheated off and on for 2 months or so. After that first cheat, it was just so hard for me to get back on Atkins.

I have been cheat free since last Wednesday (almost 2 weeks now). We just took our daughter to the fair yesterday. Have to say that I was tempted, BUT I didn't get anything!! Turned down the cotton candy, funnel cakes, kettle corn, ....

So, I'm a bit proud of myself right now, especially since I'm still having the sugar cravings. Just thought I'd pat myself on the back. (Smile)

Thanks. Actually, I've never had a funnel cake, but I've heard such great things about it. I think it was harder to turn down than any of the others since I love to try new things.

            Well done Debbiey
I am proud of you too - that took determination

Oh, wow, funnel cake. Just thinking about it is giving me cravings haha. I havent had any since I went to IHOP in July!

Well done though, not giving into temptation! I almost cried this evening, serving my family chocolate syrup pudding, and I had nothing lol

                    Re: Yea me!!

                    Good job!
Last fall I went to the PNE in Vancouver, B.C., and I was apalled at how much crap they had for sale!!! I was able to have a sausage and saurkraut bun(tossed the bun of course) but that was about it!
I just kept thinking 'empty calories, empty calories!!' and I held out till we were on our way home and stopped for dinner....and then I had a spinach salad and dry ribs...oh it was good!

I think about pre-Atkins, and I would have spent most of my time in the food area of the fair...it freaks me out to think what I would have eaten!

Good for you Debbie, fairs are hard, cause they're surrounding and based on junk food. Every summer DH & I go to the Stampede, and work our way around the grounds by eating junk food. This year we made a conscious decision not to go, and instead we took that money, and used it for a couple of nice dinners when we were on vacation. Congrats for sticking on plan throughout this ordeal! Takes alot of determination and will power!

Good job! And what pretty pictures!! It is funny but whenever I resist tempation I always expect some kind of magical loss the next day for being so good...which does not always happen. Congrats for getting back on track...I know it is not easy!
