  • Do Ginsana & Ginko knock you out of induction?

I have been an old pro at Atkins. I have been jumping on and off Atkins for about 3 years. In the past I would average about a 0.5 to 1 lbs a day loss. I am 31 year old male, and need to lose about 60lbs for my goal weight. I have currently been on Atkins, in the induction phase for the past 5 weeks. I also run/walk 2 miles a day. As in the past, I do eat one Atkin's bar every morning.

Enough with all the formalities, here is my question:

Does Ginsana and/or gingko knock one out of induction or slow down one's loss? I have been taking the supplements, but I have had no movement for the past 2 weeks. Since Nov. 1 I have only lost 4lbs. Which is very disturbing considering I in the past have lost 5 lbs a week on average. This has never happened to me, and I wonder if the supplements have anything to do with it.

    Thanks!

I think you must mean, "knock you out of ketosis". I don't know about those supplements but you very well might still be in ketosis. Stalls are normal and the more times you jump back to Induction the harder it is to lose again. Disclaimer: this is what I've heard - not experienced.

I've been taking Gingko for several years without any problem. Never took Ginsana, so I don't know if it would affect weight loss. Chances are, its the going on/off plan that's made losing difficult for you. But, like Perry, I can't speak from experience since I never went off plan. I would nix the Atkins' bars though .. they *DO* stall weight loss in some folk.
