Follow the attached link for fake mashed potatoes. I have found that following the recipe to the letter gives it to much of a garlicky taste, but thats very much my own opinion. It may be different for you.

I have tried playing about with it a little and occasionally add Brocolli. It gives it a bit of something extra.....

    I hope that helps.

Load up on nibbles that you like. Its great to have them around. I like veggies dipped in Ranch, cheese balls, pork rinds,

I usually take ham/cheese rollups to parties etc - I roll them and leave in the fridge for several hours and just before serving slice them into thin bite-sized slices and arrange them laying down like little wheels artistically around the plate - always gets comments about how nice and unusual it is - but make sure you have some 'backup stock' (for you to eat) if there are lots of other people there as they do disappear fast!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

check out the holiday menues with recipes in the low carb cooking section of the board. they moved it to the lessons section of the board last time I was looking for it.

you can make faux taters or roasted caulifolower instead of taters and you canuse pumpkin in place of sweet taters.

Keep yourself occupied with family and friends, and remind yourself that you only need to eat when you are hungry. Nimbling and snacking can lead you down a scary path. Next thing you know, you have consumed more calories and carbs than you anticipated.

I always eat before I go to someone's house and I wear a great new outfit. This reminds me that if I overeat, indulge, snack on too much, that my new outfit will look terrible and may not fit next Christmas.

Actually, my Christmas outfit from last year does not fit from last year. I was a size 6/8 and now I am a 0/2. Hurray!

I think I misread your message.... my apologies.

If you are looking for good LC SF snacks to keep around your house during the holidays, then keep fresh vegs like celery around with LC sf Peanut butter, cheese and pepperoni tid bits and of course, Sf jello made with diet 7-up or club soda....MMMMMmmmmmmmmmm

You can also make your own cookies and fudge, just check our the recipe section. I made lemon bursts last night to take with me to family events.

Mashed turnips with cream cheese, butter & bacon drippings, and heavy cream .. you won't know they're not potatoes.

Re: so what do youat xmas?

These are BETTER than mashed potatoes!!!! You can fool around with the amounts. I add sour cream, and I use Real Bacon Bits --- don't bother frying it up from scratch. I get the cream cheese with chives, and don't bother with the green onions. It's so good. It's easy to double. Oftentimes I'll double up on the cauliflower and it still works. In a pinch, I've even just served it with skipping the baking part. It's so, so good. I've used the boxed, bagged, or fresh cauliflower. The fresh isn't any tastier, so I go the easy route. Be ware.... This is addictive to me. EVERYONE LOVES this recipe. You don't need to tell them what it is. Try it and report back!

                  JUST LIKE STUFFED BAKED POTATOES
16 ounce package frozen cauliflower *
                  8 ounce cream cheese, softened
                  8 ounce cheddar cheese, shredded
                  4 green onions, chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
                  1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 pieces bacon, chopped and fried until crisp
Paprika, optional Cook the cauliflower until soft, about 8-10 minutes; drain very well and break up florets a bit with a spoon (it's also very good if the cauliflower is still a little chunky). Put in a greased 8 x 8" baking pan or 2-quart casserole. Mix in the cream cheese, cheddar, green onion, salt, pepper and bacon. Dust top with paprika, if desired. Bake at 350ยบ for 20-40 minutes, until browned and bubbly.

                  Makes 6 servings
