I took a look at http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/recipes.html and most of the bread-like recipies include Carbquik.....what's that all about?
I have never heard of this product before (living in Denmark, we don't have much of this stuff)....What do you think...is it a total no-no on induction?

I haven't seen it around here either Elmark. Check online, if its available you can probably find it there. I would think that yes, its an induction nono

Somewhere on her site, that woman has her own mixture similar to Carbquick that you can make up. Check on the misc. area....I can't quite recall where it is but I'm sure I've seen it somewhere there, and I'm off to work here in a bit so you're on your own!

Thanks for answering...I did a search on it on the ADBB, and some similar words, but didn't really find anything. It can be bought on Netrition.com, but it has wheat in it.....so absolutely a nono!!!

          Re: Carbquik

try looking in our recipe section for bake mix. I know there were several I posted you can make yourslef. it is the low carb version of bisquik you know that old flour levening agent and fat mixed together in one box and you added water for biscuits and some other dtuff for muffins and cakes.

they might be in the low carb cooking lessons in the lessons section of ADBB

I didn't even know it was the same as bake-mix.....LOL I already have a "make it yourself" recipe for bake mix....but I can't use that on induction either....
But nevermind, I was just wondering if it was the "new THING" on Atkins.... I love Atkins just the way it is....don't need bread!

              Re: Carbquik

Well, I came home and had a look for Linda's bake mix on her site (the fontlady site you gave the link to) and I can't find it, so I must've dreamt it was there..lol

If you want a 'bread' type of thing though, try this recipe of hers
              http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/2_carb_burger_bun.html

I make this quite frequently and it works great. Watch how much flax you are taking in though, keeping in mind your flax limits. I slice this into 3 slices and have one a day. You can put tuna or chicken salad on it or even a fried egg and a piece of cheese.
You can also flavour it up with parmesan and herbs, or cinnamon and splenda. I mostly just do mine plain as I like the taste of flax.
