  • Oh My goodness... back AGAIN!!!!

I think I may be the naughtiest Atkins dieter ever. I lost 31lbs in preparation for my wedding in March. Then came Thanksgiving and Christmas and now, I WEIGH EXACTLY THE SAME AS WHEN I STARTED... 31lbs straight back on.

I bought my wedding dress when I had lost the weight in anticipation of losing 2 more inches and it doesn't fit me now at all. I do not want to get in to a swim suit in front of all my family and friends in St Lucia where we are getting married.

I don't know why I put the weight back on. I wanted to keep it off, but I can't help but feel that maybe there is some deep hidden psychology in me to stay big? Even though I feel cruddy at this weight?

I leave for St Lucia March 8th. The wedding is on March 16th. I have 56 days and I got back on the Atkins wagon this morning. I weigh 257lbs. It's like I need to do this for someone other than myself - because I will never let anyone else down even if it means letting myself down. ARGH!

Can anyone give me any of their motivational tips? Desperation is creeping in!

Congrats for coming back! Sometimes it's hard to put all this into perspective, but don't do it FOR anyone else. Do it for YOURSELF. Nobody else matters. With that said, I know you are doing it for yourself, but don't be so concerned about what others think. You are ultimately the person who needs to feel good about yourself.

Conrats also on your upcoming wedding!

It is a psychological game for people to lose weight and keep it off. I feel that losing weight will make me more attractive but i do not like attention . Especially the wrong kind if u know what i mean . So being overweight is sort of like a comfort blanket. I look at my extra layer of fat as protection against unwanted attention . Yet i want to be healthy and active. Thats the battle for me. U know, sometime i think that I want to lose weight mainly to stop the rude comments from my co-workers and family. Although my Fiancee hasnt complained .......yet....

Maybe some reading might help you establish some reasons?

Many members have posted that this book helped them sort out their feelings about eating :
