  • am i allowed?

    am i allowed to have tea? i drink about 3 cups a day and use 1 packet of sweet n low.(splenda knock off) is this ok for induction?

    Well....you're not supposed to have caffeine during induction but it's okay to have caffeine free tea. (As long as you drink all your water as well). Make sure you count the carbs in the tea and the sweetener. And remember you can have a maximum of 3 servings of sweetener a day. Are you sure Sweet & Low has Splenda in it? Just make sure it doesn't have aspartame in it because it's been known to stall people.

      Tea is excellent! It does have 1 carb per 8oz per Fitday. There are lots of caffeine free varieties out there. I prefer green tea myself as it is the highest in antioxidants and the caffeine is minimal when you purchase the regular stuff - but they have caffeine free varieties out there, too. Just be careful that they didn't strip the antioxidants with the caffeine! I'm familiar w/Sweet N Low (which is saccharin) and it is fine for induction. I like to use it for my drinks instead of Splenda because it's sweeter which means that I can use my carb count more efficiently but not using as much as I would've using Splenda.
