  • Cravings

    Today I bought some whipped cream and some diet sodas. What a big mistake these items were. I tried a little bit of whipped cream and it brought on massive cravings. I had a hard time trying to stop eating it.

    What are some items that bring on cravings for you guys?

    If I see chips and Salsa in front of me, I will eat it. I am so weird like that. I am a junkie for chips and salsa because well, I love it and I love Mexican food, yummers!!! Well, no more of that, it makes me sick now and I learned from my mistake!! I am clean and I haven't gained any weight from messing up, but I shant let it get to me like that again though. Bad Bekka. If you do get cravings, just drink water and that will help you steer away from all the bad stuff. That's what I do when I work because I am a cashier and I see all this food go through my line 24/7, it's some scary stuff. Oh, and brush your teeth, it does wonders.

      cream cheese. I can mindlessly sit and eat way to much of it. I have to measure and put only my allowance on a plate and stretch it out. It really curbs my hunger pains-but more than an ounce at a time-and I'm ready to clean out the refrigerator (via my mouth).

        I had some sugar free jello with whipped cream the other day! Ugh! I wanted to eat anything in site after that no more of that.

          ALCOHOL, and sometimes diet cokes, sugar free jello (only the store bought kind for some reason), macadamia nuts, and cream cheese. In fact I crave cream cheese all the time but now when I eat it I get all puffy, ichy, and just over all icky. Oh and summer sausage too...
          But alcohol is the worst for me!!!

            Chips and Salsa, but you can get sugar-free salsa, or make your own and microwave pepperoni til crispy to use as chips.

            Also, raw cauliflower, but it makes me stall so I can't eat it at all!

            Also, beer isn't a craving, but it causes others! I do miss the occasional beer, but there will be a time and a place and it is NOT NOW!!!

              I have a personal theory that a technically legal food which reminds us of an old favorite (for example, whipped cream with splenda as opposed to whipped cream with sugar) signals our brain in an emotional way because we associate it with other illegal things. Like, if you're at a party and you have a fancy dessert with whip cream. It wakes up all sorts of emotional responses in you like 'happy/fun/celebrate!' and you naturally want more.
              Or like having a coffee and craving a cookie to dunk in it..that sort of thing.

              Cravings can come from physical sources, but I really think a lot of it comes from emotional sources....or so it seems to me.

                diet coke with splenda and nuts.
                i could (before i quit last week) drink about 2liters a day of the stuff. I've gone cold turkey on all pop and drinks with splenda. It seems to be helping already.
