    Hi all...

Third week of induction, and Im feeling a little... tired and worn.

Are there any supplements that one can take to help with the after work energy boost ?

Anything I can do as far as food choices ?

    Thanks,

    Re: Need a Boost...

Are you currently taking an iron-free multi vitamin? If not, then hie thee to a drugstore and get going on those.
Could it be that you are going too long between eating and that's why you feel tired?
Are you eating more frequent smaller meals (more like snacks) through your day? I find that really helps me keep my energy up.
When you do have a snack is it a combo of fat/protein? This will satisfy you quicker and sustain you longer than just protein, or a protein/carb mix.

      Re: Need a Boost...

because of my demanding job its hard to sneak in snacks... I usually eat at my desk between noon phone calls... I try to sneak in a hard boiled egg between lunch and supper, but its hard, I have alot of work and no time to sit and eat. Im in the office at 730am and dont leave till 6ish at night so supper is 7ish... gym at 730 and food at 9... I cant eat before the gym because I feel weighed down...

      help ?!

oh yes, I am taking a multi vitamin, have been for years, centrum forte... should I invest in something else ?

      Thank you for your reply...

I was feeling REALLY tired and warn around my 3rd/4th week... I took a few days off from exercising and ate a little more protien, within 2 days I was back to myself... Don't know if that will help you, but I haven't had a problem since.
        Good luck with this!

                Re: Need a Boost...

If you aren't eating enough then it's no surprise that you are feeling tired and worn.
I can respect that you are busy, but if you keep a container of something in your desk (freeze a bottle of water, put it in a thermal bag and throw your snacks in there) you can have a bite or two once in a while to keep your tank topped up, so to speak.
Fat/protein combo's are best as they will sustain you longer, so think about rolling some cheese up in some deli meat..that's an easy finger food.

I recently changed hours at work from a four hour morning shift to a full 8 hour day and I had a few rough days figuring out my foods as I get a lunch, but no real set coffee break. Our fridge is right near the washroom so before running in for a potty break I'll grab a mouthful or two and that sure has helped me through my day.
                I call it multi-tasking...lol
