  • Day 29 and....

    Hi All,
Well, I am coming to the end of day 29 on the WOE and my weigh in today revealed no loss, but measurements seem to have gone down slightly so I am content. My exercise routine is 30-40 minute walk per day and every other day is 30 minutes swimming also, so I am guessing that I may have put muscle on (hence my weight not dropping).
I had a quick question: I know that Dr Atkins said in his book that peanuts are a no-no in the first 2 weeks. So what about now?? Or did he mean Induction (assuming that he thought that people would only do induction for 2 weeks)?? Are peanuts a known staller?? Can i have them now that i am a few weeks in??
    Thanks,

    Peace,

You need to read the book. Be careful how you add foods back in. The wrong things in the wrong order can cause spikes, stalls and cravings. It's important to go by the book! Hope this helps

Please read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002 (DANDR for short) so you understand the why behind Dr. Atkins reasoning when it comes to limiting/adding back in certain foods.
No, sorry...no peanuts yet. Some folks will add in raw almonds as per DANDR, but most people wait until the nut rung in OWL to add nuts back in. Nuts can be a MAJOR portion control problem food, and peanuts can be especially tricky.
In addition to the book you can read the OWL forum stickys to get an idea of what it's all about as well.

I assumed that it mean no nuts on induction, and didnt add them in till I reached the nuts & seeds rung of OWL when I moved on after a couple of years on induction - till I lost the first 100 pounds.

I do know some of those deciding to stay on induction for a long time - 6 months and more - have added nuts, but many have reported problems with portion control!!!

As peanuts are a legume, not a nut, I would leave them and also peanut butter till the legume rung of OWL.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
