You are limited to 3 servings of sweetener a day, so make sure you don't overdo it.
And remember that only pure water counts towards your requirement of 64+ ounces a day.
Not sure if it could stall exactly, but theres nothing nutritionally beneficial to drinking it. I'd rather make some iced decaf green tea so I'm at least getting something good for me out of the deal.
..can you tell I'm not a fan of soda...? lol
I'd encourage you to cut it down to one can a day.

Does anyone know why caffeine is not allowed on the induction diet? So far I've lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks, I've been doing an extended induction and I was wondering how long is it safe to stay on induction? I have to admit, I am kind've scared of messing things up by moving on to OWL phase, any advice is greatly appreciated!

Caffeine is a YMMV "your mileage may vary" choice. It can cause blood sugar crashes and cravings in some people, but not others. It is addictive, and induction is all about breaking bad habits!

How much weight do you have to lose? Dr. A acknowledges that some people with significant weight to lose could benefit from extended induction, but it is up to you. If you start feeling bored with induction foods, or would like a greater variety, you should move onto OWL. The first rung is just an additional 5 net carbs of induction veggies. OWL is also crucial for finding your critical carb level for losing CCLL. Read the OWL stickies and your DANDR and see if OWL is right for you. If you have less than 50 lbs to lose, I would definitely recommend moving. HTH!

Here is some interesting stuff which might help you decide what you want to do about caffeine

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I agree with Moochie here - 3 cans is probably over doing it.

Plus, in my opinion - soda is a diruetic so you actually have to SUBTRACT those 12 oz cans from your total water intake. Same with decaf coffee.

So if you're drinking 3 cans of diet rite you'd have to drink at least 100oz of water to follow this diet correctly, really.

Plus you wouldn't be allowed any other servings of splenda a day.

Like moochie said - probably best to cut down to 1 can per day if you can.

I'd tread carefully with the soda... no harm now and again pro

Whoops...sorry... the post slipped in too quick! Call me butter fingers...

Just was saying that the splenda pop probably wouldn't be harmful now and again, but wouldn't overdo it, especially in induction.

I'd say just limit it to three cans too, also the drinking more water. Diet Rite may still stall you if it has citric acid, but if a few days pass and it seems to work for you, go for it!
