I normally bring my own thing for lunch, but I got asked to lunch by my boss. I didn't want to go out to eat, but you people who have bosses know how it is. I was told we were going to a certain restaurant where I knew I could order a plain hamburger, so I thought, no problem. On the road riding with my boss, he gets a call, we turn around, and start heading away from town. Turns out we are meeting another employee and a contractor at the contractor's home, where his wife is making us a home-cooked meal. BLINDSIDED! The lunch is meatball subs with tomato sauce and melted cheese in toasted buns and potato chips. We're sitting around the kitchen table awkwardly, and not really being overweight, I'm having to explain I'm eating low carb to help with my long-distance running. I felt like the meatballs probably had more carbs than I wanted, but I'm not a cook, and I don't really know how they are made. I just ate the meatballs and left the buns. AWKWARD! But, hey, that's the life of an Atkineer.

Way to go! While the meatballs may have had some breadcrumbs or just plain bread in them, at least you didn't have the bun or chips. Next time ask the cook so you know. Good for you!

Sounds like you made a great choice, given the circumstances!
There's nothing I hate more than the old switcheroo... *groan*No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

Been there.. and it's a rough spot. I have a boss like that, and man... it can be rough sometimes, but hopefully he doesn't do that often. You took the best way out that you could, under the circumstances. Especially if you're talking clients. It would have driven me nuts!

Re: Got blindsided at lunch today.
You did well actually, I've been in similar situations too. I always tell myself this is a way of life, these things are going to happen. You got through it (quite well really!) and now you can jsut move on. Dont beat yourself up..just pick up where you left off. You'll be fine.
