Excellent news John! Keep up the good work.

What advice could you pass on to the newbies?

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally!

        Congratulations on getting halfway there

Have you thought about moving on to OWL yet?

Dr Atkins expected us to lose our last 5-10 pounds in the stage after OWL (premaintenance) so it is about time you started finding your CCLL and seeing if any foods are going to upset your body!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I have been plotting my weight daily on a graph and watching the fluctuations and trends. As an engineer, I like to graph everything. I know psychologically it is not recommended to weigh yourself that often, but it doesn't bother me. It has been mentioned that salt causes water retention and weight gain, but this seems to be a temporary weight that is easily lost. Three nights ago, I heated a large cube of meat in the microwave...not sure what it was, but I think it was a sirloin roast. It had zero carbs. I sawed it in half and ate half of it that night, half the next night. It was pretty salty. Both mornings-after I had gained 0.2 pounds. Then last night I had some rotisserrie chicken. Woke up this morning, and I had lost 1.6 pounds in one day.

Advice to newbies? This is not so much advice as a suggestion. Since Day 1 (Jan 4th), I have had nothing to drink but water. I used to have 2 glasses of red wine per night, plus lots of Diet Mountain Dew, Diet Dr. Pepper, and sometimes coffee during the day. I wasn't a big fan of drinking water. I liked my caffeine, but not really sugar. I suggest to all newbies to try eliminating all drinks but water. I drink bottled water or filtered water. I find that water tastes really sweet now, almost like it is sweetened with sugar. I enjoy drinking water all day long. I carry around a bottle refilled from the office water cooler. Once I get to my goal, I will start adding some more variety to my drinks, maybe some coffee, red wine or light beer. But for right now, I am content to drink water and only water.

There is a TV commercial for Aquafina bottled water. It shows a bunch of people partying in a pub, they're clinking mugs of water together, some guy is funnelling water from a barber's chair. It's hilarious. But everytime I see it, my mouth starts watering, and I have to get myself another glass.

            Way to go John.

Awesome progress, get yourself on to owl and keep it up. I second the water observation. I used to hate water, now I don't want anything else.
