    Fat Burners???

Hey everyone. I just had a question on Hydroxycut. I just read that you should cut out the caffeine especially during induction. I am just starting week four on extended induction. I had cut coffee completely for about 2 weeks but slowly started having a cup here and there again and i am also taking Hydroxycut. My goal is 30 pounds and i have lost 6 so far. My question is does anyone think that my caffeine consumption could hinder weight loss and does anyone have an opinion on fat burners? Thanks

My understanding is that caffeine can cause triggers in some people an affect blood sugar. Its tough to cut it but it can (and should) be done. You need to break the hold that your former eating (and drinking) had on you. that includes caffeine.

The pills... Imnot familiar with that particular brand but lets think reasonably here. why would you want to poison your body with that garbage? Im sure the side effects arent pretty. But lets say the pills work miracles and you loose all your weight by 5/1/06. When you stop taking the drugs and its now 5/1/07.... how much have you gained back because you didnt learn how to eat? 10 pounds? 20? what about 2 years later when you are depressed about gaining weight back and stopping at McDs onyour way home? 180? more? You need to learn how to eat and listen to your body, not how to take a pill.

(Tired of Chub) Thanks for the input. I am not usually a pill popper when i diet but i had six weeks to lose as much weight as possible before a trip to Hawaii so i thought i would do everything i could to lose quickly. If i had more time i probably never would have tried them. Thanks again.

welcome. I know its pretty crappy to hear it but somedays you need to hear it from someone else. Instead of trying to lose as much as possible in a short period of time, work on firming what you have in addition to your current workout. work on firming up. 5 pounds of muscle is alot more compact then 5 pounds of fat- go to the grocery store, look at a 5 pound roast, its not that big!
Since you are relatively close to goal, have you thought about making the move to OWL? I imagine your food experience in Hawaii would benefit. and yes, you still lose on Owl.

Good advice being given here. Dr. Atkins also said that diet pills can interfere with weight loss. Then there's the side effects when you stop taking them....nope, I would just stick with eating the Atkins way and exercising. I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.

The only weight loss supplement that I found was effective was Ephedra, which was banned and is not in the newer formulas of Hydroxycut. IMO the new formula of Hyrdoxycut are just overpriced caffeine pills. Don't bother...

If you want to do your own version of Atkins that includes diet pills, you might want to check out the Low Carb Board:

We don't condone the use of 'aids' like that, and there might be someone over there who knows something about it.
