  • Hmmm

ive been on this woe for 3 and a half weeks now (usually weigh every week on a tuesday) and so far have lost 20lbs.. ive chosen to stay on induction as i have a lot to lose but for some reason since yesterday ive just lost motivation.. i know my loss so far should be enough for me but these past 2 days ive been wanting sweets a lot more than the previous two weeks and just getting quite down about the whole thing, i really am dreading weighing in this tuesday as i feel in myself like ive put on weight, despite the fact that the only times ive cheated was when i had a couple of sips of sugar free lemonade (yes with aspartame).. maybe im just being a drama queen or somethin but i just have this feeling of humph it feels to me like i have so far to go before i start looking like how i want to look.. i think i might go eat some sugar free jello (yep aspartame again!)... i guess im just impatient and grumpy for some reason

    Re: Hmmm

okay since you are having a craving for sweets check your foods journal first and see if you have any new to you foods? ingredient changes in any food you buy? any new meds or vits? eatting too many carbs at one time geting a bolus effect?

next if nothing has changed there look at your life style Any cutting back of your activities?

these are things that can trigger blood sugasr instability and lead to food wants. if none of those things happened then it is an emotional want and those are hard to fix. Our brain has a massive cross filed system of memeory and has cataloged foods and their effects on your feelings. it knows what foods were your drug of choice to fix things and will be prescribing them over and over until it learns a new fix for that issue. So you need to figure out if you have a new stress in your life and how you can help your brain fix this without eating foods. This is were the exercising your will power makes it stronger theory came from casue as you ignore those messages the strenght of the siganl will get weaker and weaker each time.

You can do this. just think to yourself that me plus 20pounder wants back in my body and I'm not giving it back to her by eating those sweets! I am strong and can hold her out!

      Re: Hmmm

We all get humph days, but the feeling does pass

Can you work out just when you started getting the extra strong cravings for sweets? Was it before or after you had those sips of lemonade??

Sometimes just a small amount of 'sugar-free' sweetened food or drinks makes your body long for more of the samae, so try to give your body a highfat 'legal' snack instead. We need to retrain our bodies to know that it is us who make the decision about what foods we are going to eat.

Here is an interesting thread bout the effect sweet things have on many of us

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

2big thank you im always stubborn with other ppl and i think youve just made me realise i need to be stubborn with myself! i have just this week started taking vitamins with added minerals which i hadnt been taking before and i me and my boyfriend have been going thru yet another "rough patch" so i guess thats my mind tryna get me to eat something i shouldnt like you said. the strong craving for sweets started about 2 days ago, probably the day where i went to see my family and they all were asking "oh but dont you want chocolate after dinner?" "oh i just couldnt do that, no ice cream?" and i think my sub concious must of thought hmm maybe i do want it again! thank you both - i'm sticking to this no matter what, just had a little peep at my chart ive got pinned up and if i lose another 5lbs i'll have lost the equivalent of my 18month old son - talk about perspective!

Maybe you should recruit your family to be part of your support system so they wouldn't do that any more. you know DR PHil them LOL tell them I need your help. when you do this__________. I feel this _____________ and that harms me. can you please help me by doing this_________ and give them a positive thing to do to help you.

            2big gave GREAT advice.

The only thing I can offer up is some advice I got yesterday. When you are craving something sweet, eat the opposite. Feeding that little sugar monster will only make matters worse. Try having some cheese or something like that.

I know you will do fine. I gave in yesterday to the sugar monster and I am KICKING myself big time today, and it all started with one measely piece of LC chocolate.

Your progress is great, and you should be proud. Stick to your guns!
